Again, I can’t hate on the Bucks even though they underachieved for the vast majority of the 2015-16 regular season. As a mater of fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Milwaukee has the breakout campaign everyone is expecting this coming season.

Unless Mark Cuban quickly overhauls his roster to make it championship worthy (he wont) Dirk Nowitzki could play out his remaining years in mediocrity.
Washington
Why do the talented Wizards keep underachieving and will it get any better under new head coach Scott Brooks?
Philadelphia
Could the Colangelo’s really restore the Sixers to their former glory? Yes, but it’s going to take a couple of years at best.
Los Angeles
If LeBron James ends up in Los Angeles, well, hell the Lakers could return to instant prominence s early as next season. If not, they’ll take the No.2 pick in the draft and continue rebuilding under young head coach Luke Walton.
Utah
I like the way the Jazz are building around Gordon Hayward, Rodney Hood and Derrick Favors and they should be a lot better with the return of Dante Exum next season.
The Top Five Favorites
Golden StateThe Dubs will be back next season and are the odds-on-favorite to win it all – and rightfully so I say after their two-year run of excellence fell just short of their second championship.
Cleveland
Look, if LeBron James stays in Cleveland, the Cavaliers will almost assuredly overpower the competition en route to another Finals appearance at the very least.
San Antonio
Even if Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili retire (they won’t) the Spurs still have a pair of legitimate superstars in Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge and a roster full of competent players that know how to win.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder will be in big trouble if Kevin Durant decides to bolt. If he returns, the Thunder will be a top contender again.
L.A. Clippers
The Clippers have plenty of talent on their roster, a great head coach and now, some recent history of being legitimate winners. So, why do I feel like there’s still something missing?
The Best of the Rest
BostonIf the Celtics use their plethora of draft picks to nab a quality free agent or two (like Durant) they could return to legitimate championship title contention in a hurry.

I like the way the Heat looked this past season, even without Chris Bosh, but if they lose young center Hassan Whiteside in free agency, they’ll regret it for years.

The Rockets will continue putting up plenty of points under new head coach Mike D’Antoni, but will anyone play any defense? Honestly…hell no!
Memphis
Did the window close of Mike Conley, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph? Um…yes it did.
My Pick: To answer the question of whether LeBron James and the Cavaliers can will it all next season. The unequivocal answer is yes. Will they? I don’t see it happening, but hey, I don’t think anyone saw their historic win this season coming, so there’s that.
Right now, if I were a betting man, my NBA Futures et prediction would be on the San Antonio Spurs since they’ve been the model of consistency when it comes to legitimate championship title contenders. I believe it’s quite possible that Kawhi Leonard continues to improve while LaMarcus Aldridge assumes more of a leadership role in his second season.
