Week 11 NFL Winning Favorites: Green Bay At Washington

Written by on November 17, 2016

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers’ once potent aerial attack has been officially grounded this season. Now, with Rodgers and company in all-out desperation mode, NFL bettors everywhere need to know if the Pack will ‘liftoff’ or stay grounded against the Washington Redskins when the two NFC playoff hopefuls square off in the nation’s capitol on Sunday.  Let’s find out now.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 11 NFL Winning Favorites: Packers At Redskins

When: 8:30 PM ET, Sunday, November 20, 2016 Where: FedEx Field, Landover, Maryland TV: NBC Live Stream: NBC Sports Live Odds: Washington -2.5

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have lost three straight and four of their last five games and come into this Week 11 matchup off a stunning 47-25 blowout against Marcus Mariota and Tennessee Titans this past Sunday. Rodgers threw for 371 yards with two touchdowns abut also tossed two costly interceptions in the shocking defeat. Wide receiver Davante Adams had six catches for 156 yards while fellow wideout Jordy Nelson had 12 catches for 126 yards and one score. Unfortunately, the Packers couldn’t stop Mariota or Tennessee running back DeMarco Murray. For the season, Rodgers has passed for 2,410 yards with 22 touchdowns and seven picks. Nelson leads the team with 50 catches for 635 yards and eight touchdowns, but running back Eddie Lacy has been virtually invisible in rushing for just 360 yards on 71 carries.

Washington Redskins

Washington has suffered just one loss (and one tie) over their last seven games and come into this contest off a hard-fought 26-20 win over Minnesota last weekend as quarterback Kirk Cousins passed for 262 yards and two touchdowns while running back Robert Kelley rushed 22 times for 97 yards. On the season, Cousins has passed for 2,716 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Running back Matt Jones has rushed for a team-high 460 yards while wide receiver Jamison Crowder has recorded a team-high 44 catches for 535 yards and five touchdowns.

Expert Prediction and Pick

Despite their struggles, Green Bay has scored at least 25 points in each of their last four games while Washington has been limited to 17 points or less twice in their last five games. Green Bay’s complete desperation – and that guy named Aaron Rodgers, that leads me to believe the Pack are the pick to pull off the upset in this Week 12 NFC clash. While the Packers are just 1-3 on the road this season, Washington has lost two of their five home dates this season and just doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence in me despite their winning record at this point. The Packers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss which tells me they generally bounce back with a solid effort after losing. I know Washington has gone 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall, but the Packers are also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against their NFC counterparts. I’ve got to believe that Green Bay is going to wake up at some point before they find themselves on the outside looking in come playoff time. Besides, the Packers have Aaron Rodgers on their side. Green Bay wins outright to cover the spread!
