Which driver among Kyle Busch, Truex Jr., Keselowski, and Denny Hamlin has the best chance of winning the 2019 Foxwoods Resort Casino 301?
Kyle Busch has been in excellent form. He has 3 Top 5 finishes in his last 5 races: a fifth at Michigan on June 9, a second at Sonoma on June 23, and a second at Kentucky on July 13. Kyle also won the Foxwoods Resort and Casino 301 in 2015 and finished second in this race last year.
But although Busch should be the favorite, he’s hard to back at less than +300 odds. Busch will put in a great effort. He might not win. He only has 4 wins in 19 starts.
A better driver to back to take the checkered flag on Sunday among the favorites is Denny Hamlin. Hamlin has a recency advantage in terms of winning the Foxwoods Resort and Casino 301. He took home the trophy in 2017. He finished a respectable thirteenth in last year’s race. He finished fifth at Kentucky last week and offers better odds to win this than Busch, Truex Jr., Harvick, or Keselowski.
Which driver between +1000 and +2500 odds can win the race on Sunday?
Chase Elliott hasn’t cracked the Top 10 in 5 straight. However, when he and his crew get things working, things work for a while. Before the 5 races Top 10 drought, Elliott had finished in the Top 5 in 5-of-6.
Last year, Elliott finished fifth at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino behind Truex Jr., Aric Almirola, Kyle Busch, and winner Kevin Harvick. Chase can bounce back with a great race on July 21. He might bounce back with a win.
Is there a driver between +2500 and +6600 odds that can win the 2019 Foxwoods Resort Casino 301?
Erik Jones finished sixteenth at last year’s race, but he and his crew could be sitting on a massive performance. Jones finished third at Kentucky behind the two Busch brothers, Kyle and Kurt, on July 13. Although he could finish no better than twenty-third on July 6 at Daytona, he finished seventh at Chicago and eighth at Sonoma in the two previous races.
Jones is definitely under the radar at +2800. He’s a logical dark horse choice if you’re looking to back a driver with a real shot at the checkered flag.
What two drivers not listed can take the checkered flag on July 21?
Both Austin Dillon and Ryan Newman offer massive odds. Dillon is at +12500. Newman is at +15000.
Dillon finished thirty-third at Daytona and thirty-fifth at Chicago in the last two NASCAR races. He finished twenty-first at the 2019 Foxwood Resorts and Casino 301. He’s a very good driver, though. If you’re looking for a huge longshot, he has as much of a chance as any other 5-digit choice save for Ryan Newman.
Newman might be the better longshot play even though he offers higher odds. Newman finished sixth at this race last year. Newman also finished in the Top 10, ninth, at Kentucky. He has a much better shot of winning the Foxwoods Resort and Casino on July 21 than his odds indicate.
