Which driver among Kyle Busch, Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin has the best chance of winning the 2019 Go Bowling at The Glen?
Kyle Busch finished third at the Go Bowling at The Glen last year. Busch didn’t have a great ride at Pocono last week, which makes him vulnerable at such low odds. He also hasn’t won a race since Pocono on July 2.
Truex Jr. most definitely deserves consideration. Martin finished third at Pocono last week. He finished second in this race in 2018. Truex Jr. won this race in 2017. He’s got a major shot to take the checkered flag on Sunday.
Although Truex Jr. should be in the Top 5 on August 4, he’s not the driver to back to actually win among the three favorites. That goes to Pocono winner Denny Hamlin. Hamlin took home his fifth trophy this NASCAR Season on July 28. He can most definitely make it back-to-back checkered flags on Sunday.
Even though Denny finished thirteenth at Watkins Glen last year, he won the race in 2016. Not only that, but no driver and crew are as copasetic right now as Hamlin and his. Denny finished fifth at Kentucky, second at New Hampshire, and won at Pocono. The odds make him an overlay in this.
Which driver between +1000 and +1600 odds can win the race on Sunday?
Elliott is the obvious play in this odds range because he won at Watkins Glen in 2018. But, we should look for more value by going to Kyle Larson. Larson offers +1200 odds. He finished sixth at Watkins Glen last year. He finished fifth at Pocono last week.
Watkins finished fourth at Kentucky three races ago before a terrible New Hampshire run. He can bounce back with a solid win at decent odds on August 4.
Is there a driver between +2800 and +4000 odds that can win the 2019 Go Bowling at The Glen?
Although he’s at the low end of this odds range, Erik Jones can most definitely take the checkered flag on Sunday. Jones finished fifth at Watkins Glen last year. He finished second at Pocono last week.
What’s really impressive? Erik finished third at Kentucky and third at New Hampshire before the second at Pocono. Jones is knocking on the door. He might crash through the door for a victory on Sunday. The +2800 odds are very good on a driver with a hot car.
What long shot driver with odds of at least +5000 can take the checkered flag on August 4?
The driver with the best shot is William Bryon, the only one offering +5000 odds. It’s tough to make a case for any driver with odds higher than Byron’s to win the 2019 Go Bowling at The Glen.
As a rookie in 2018, Byron finished eighth in this race. Last week, he finished fourth at Pocono. William has been in decent form with a second at Daytona on July 6 and the fourth at Pocono on July 28. So, he has a shot. Plus, Byron offers better than fair odds at +5000.
