Which driver among Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, or Martin Truex Jr. has the best chance of winning the 2019 South Point 400?
Kyle offers the lowest odds on every race, but he never seems to win. At The Brickyard last Sunday, Busch ran into some trouble and finished 37th. He could definitely step it up in the first playoff race this season. The odds don’t justify a wager, though.
Brad Keselowski won last year’s South Point 400. He’s definitely worth a look to repeat here. Like Busch, though, he had a tough go of it at The Brickyard. He’s got a cold car heading to Vegas.
Kevin Harvick won at The Brickyard last Sunday. But, KH finished 39th in this race last year. He’s another to not back. It’s hard to see Harvick picking it up on Sunday.
That leaves us with Logano, Hamlin, and Truex Jr. Of those three drivers, Logano, the 2018 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Winner, gets the nod. Joey finished fourth at the inaugural South Point 400 last year. He had a decent run at The Brickyard, clocking in behind Harvick. Logano can get the playoffs off to a rousing start with a victory.
Is there a driver between +1200 and +2200 odds that can win the 2019 South Point 400?
Erik Jones and Kyle Larson deserve looks. Ryan Blaney is the top driver to back in this odds category, though.
Blaney finished seventh at The Brickyard last week. He finished 5th at the 2018 South Point 400. Blaney’s driving well enough for NASCAR handicappers to consider backing for the win this Sunday. The odds are more than fair.
What longshot driver with odds of at least +3300 can take the checkered flag on September 15?
Clint Bowyer shouldn’t offer +4000 odds. His odds should be around +2500, maybe, +3300 at the most. Bowyer finished 5th at The Brickyard last Sunday. He finished 23rd at the 2018 South Point, but heads into this year’s race with a seemingly much faster car. Expect Bowyer to out drive his odds on September 15.
