With Fall fast approaching, NASCAR fans are now well aware that the playoffs are right around the corner. The final few races of the regular season tend to be a mad dash for points that will help drivers stay above the playoff line before time runs out. Things are a little different in the Xfinity Series, though, as it appears as if the final 12 is basically all but set. Positioning heading into the playoff races is crucial, though, so expect those drivers down near the line to try and amass enough points to move up and get themselves into a better position once the playoffs begin. This weekend, NASCAR is in Indianapolis for another road race at the Brickyard. Who will come out on top this weekend? Let’s take a closer at the upcoming Pennzoil 150 race so you can get ready to bet against their NASCAR Xfinity Series odds.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Betting Preview for Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard Race
Austin Cindric (+160)
All of the drivers we are going to talk about here have one thing in common, which is that they have a solid history racing on road courses. While that certainly elevates them to the top of the pack in the eyes of the bookies, you still need to pay attention to what they have been doing all season, as well as their current form. Cindric came into this season as the defending champion and is proving that he is not going to give up the title without a fight. He is sitting atop the driver standings at the moment and has 4 wins to his name. His record at Indy is not great, but he is coming off a 3rd place finish on the road course at Watkins Glen last weekend.
AJ Allmendinger (+240)
In his impressive career, this is the first time that Allmendinger has focused solely on the Xfinity Series, and it is a move that is bearing some real fruit. He is currently sitting just off the pace at the top of the driver standings and is very much among the favorites to win it all this year. After a couple of rough weeks where he failed to crack the top 10, Allmendinger recovered some of his early season form last weekend with a 2nd place finish on the Watkins Glen road course. There is every reason to believe we could see more of this same this week.
One driver who is among the favorites this weekend will not be figuring in the playoff race, as he has only had limited runs in the Xfinity Series this season. Ty Gibbs has run 10 times in 2021 and has managed to come away with wins in 3 of those races, as well as being in the top 5 in 8 out of those 10 races. It’s easy to see why the bookies have him up among the favorites this weekend. Gibbs raced at the Watkins Glen course last weekend and picked up the win there. Can he deliver back-to-back victories?
Justin Allgaier (+1200)
You look at the odds and you see that the bookies clearly believe that the winner will come from one of the 3 drivers we have already discussed. If you think we might see a bit of an upset, then perhaps Justin Allgaier is worth taking a look at. He finished 4th at Watkins Glen last weekend and was 2nd the last time he raced at the Brickyard back in 2019. Do not overlook this driver, especially at these odds.
