One week after absolutely nailing my Darlington 400 pick, NASCAR is back in action at the famed Darlington raceway, this time, for the Toyota 500. With this event going down, mid-week on Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 PM ET, let’s find out which drivers are offering the best value against their NASCAR betting odds.
NASCAR Toyota 500 Preview, Odds and Prediction
Driver – Odds To Win Toyota 500
|Martin Truex Jr.||+850|
10 For the Win!
Kevin Harvick +350
Harvick has finished inside the top 10 in all five NASCAR races this season, including second at Phoenix and a win at Darlington this past weekend in his last two races. Harvick has won twice in his career at Darlington, including taking the checkered flag in 2014 at the Bojangles’ Southern 500. Sunday’s win at Darlington was Harvick’s 50th career victory.
Kyle Busch +700
The reigning NASCAR champion was winless through the four races before the 2020 campaign was suspended, but he also finished second and third in the last two events in California and Phoenix before the suspension. Busch has one career win at Darlington, which came at the Dodge Challenger 500 in the spring race back in 2008.
Brad Keselowski +750
Not only doe the 2012 NASCAR champ have one top five finish and two top 10 finishes in 2020, but the widely-respected veteran also has recorded a quartet of Top-10 finishes and three straight Top five finishes at Darlington in his last six starts at the famed venue. Keselowski also has one career win on the track (2018 VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 400).
Denny Hamlin +800
Hamlin kicked off the 2020 NASCAR season by claiming victory in the highly-coveted Daytona 500. While Hamlin finished an uninspiring 13th at Darlington on Sunday, the veteran has also won on this track twice in his career, most recently, the 2017 Bojangles’ Southern 500.
Martin Truex Jr. +850
The 2017 NASCAR champ ha his best race of the season by finishing sixth on Sunday at Darlington. Now, as he gets set to return, Truex Jr. would like nothing better than to pick up his second career win at Darlington after taking the checkered flag in the 2016 Bojangles’ Southern 500.
Alex Bowman +900
Bowman doesn’t have a career win at Darlington, but he did finish an encouraging second on Sunday in the Darlington 400 and that’s a reason for hope – and a wager – heading into Wednesday night.
Joey Logano +900
The 2018 NASCAR champ was off to a stupendous start with wins at Las Vegas and Phoenix and an 12th place finish in California. Unfortunately, Logano has never won at Darlington and his 18th place finish on Sunday suggests he won’t find his way into the winner’s circle this time around either.
Chase Elliott +900
Elliott has driven well since the start of the season with two top five finishes and a pair of top 10 finishes. Elliott, who took the checkered flag at Darlington to win the 2014 VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 400, finished an encouraging fourth at Darlington this past weekend.
Kurt Busch +1400
Busch has never won at Darlington, but he’s finished an encouraging third and sixth in his last two races in California and Phoenix before recording an even more impressive third place finish at Darlington on Sunday.
Erik Jones +2000
Jones looked great to start the season by taking the checkered flag in the ‘unofficial’ season-opening Clash at Daytona while finishing second in Duel 2. More importantly, Jones finished an encouraging eighth on Sunday at Darlington.
I know just picked Kevin Harvick to get the win in Darlington this past weekend, but that won’t stop me from coming back with the wily veteran for the second straight event. In 2018, Harvick won three straight races in events No.’s 2,3 and 4 while also going back-to-back in races No. 11 and 12 that year. Last year, Harvick won three times in a seven-week stretch, so clearly, performing at a very high level in consecutive races isn’t very difficult for Harvick. I’m backing the red-hot Harvick for the second straight race and you should too!
Pick: Kevin Harvick +800
