The tournament’s host and new World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Davis Love III will tee it up at his hometown course while five of the top 30 golfers in last season’s FedExCup standings will be in attendance, along with a dozen pros from St. Simons.
No matter who’s in the field, this annual tournament has featured some of the best finishes anywhere in recent golf memory.

Six of the first seven events here have been decided by no more than one shot with Kevin Kisner’s landslide win in 2015 being the line exception. Last year, Canadian rookie Mackenzie Hughes won his first PGA Tour title in the third playoff finish for the RSM Classic thanks to a fantastic 18-foot par save on the par-3 17th hole.

Top Contenders

This year, however, Kisner heads up the odds at +1600. Following the prohibitive favorite and rounding out the top 10 favorites on the board, are Brian Harman (+2000), Matt Kuchar (+2000), Webb Simpson (+2000), Charles Howell III (+2500), Chesson Hadley (+2800), Ollie Schniederjans (+2800), Zach Johnson (+2800), Bill Haas (+3300) and Brandt Snedeker (+3300). However, let it be noted that Matt Kuchar’s last win came in 2014, Simpson’s in 2013, and Charles Howell III’s way back in 2007. Zach Johnson wasn’t won since 2015 while Brandt Snedeker’s last win came at the Farmers Insurance open in February of 2016. Hadley won the Albertsons Boise Open in September by one stroke over Ted Potter Jr. and last week, at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen in Mexico, Patton Kizzire brought home the bacon!

Kevin Kisner comes in as the RSM Classic Betting Odds favorite.

The course, Sea Island GC, is a 7,005-yard par 70. The original layout dates all the way back to 1929. Entrants will also play one of the first two rounds of the par-72 Plantation course.
