The RSM Classic marks the end of the 2023 PGA Tour schedule and the conclusion of the inaugural FedExFall Series. The 156-player field will battle over four days on Saint Simons Island in Georgia at the Sea Island Golf Club. Formerly known as the McGladrey Classic, the event has been on the PGA Tour schedule since it debuted in 2010.

Tournament play begins on Thursday, November 16th and concludes on Sunday, November 19th. Players will tackle the Plantation and Seaside courses over the first two days before the Seaside course takes over hosting duties for the final two rounds.

Canadian Adam Svensson is the defending champion after shooting a 19-under (263 total) en route to his first PGA Tour victory last season. Svensson held off second-place finishers Brian Harman, Callum Tarren, and Sahith Theegala with a two-shot victory.

The drama will be heightened this week and career-changing for some. The top 125 players in the FedExCup Fall standings at the conclusion of the tournament will secure exemption in 2024. Additionally, players that find themselves ranked 51-60th will earn bids into the first two signature events of the year.

Sea Island Golf Club

The Seaside course has been a part of this tournament since the opening event, with the Plantation course added in 2015. Players will alternate between the two tracks during the first two rounds of the tournament.

Seaside plays as a par-70 and measures just over 7,000 yards in distance. Tom Fazio redesigned the layout in 1999, bringing a links-style layout to the oceanside track.

The Plantation course is a bit longer at approximately 7,060 yards and reads as a par-72 on the scorecard. The course was redesigned in 2019 by tournament director and 21-time PGA Tour winner Davis Love III and his brother Mark.

There is a strong showing of Sea Island residents in the field led by Zach Johnson, Kevin Kisner, and Harris English. Open champion Brian Harman returns to action for the first time since the Tour Championship.

Russell Henley and Corey Conners join Harman in a return to action for the first time since the end of the PGA Tour’s regular season. Billy Horschel, who sits 54th in the Official World Golf Rankings, tees it up after a trio of successful fall events on the DP World Tour.

Recent collegiate standouts Ludvig Aberg and Fred Bondi are teeing it up this week. Aberg, a Texas Tech standout, has been impressive in his rookie season, logging 12 of 15 cuts made and two top 5 finishes. Bondi tees it up for the fourth time this season, the University of Florida product made his first cut last week in Bermuda, settling for a T13 finish.

2023 The RSM Classic Betting Favorites

Aberg (+1175) heads into Thursday’s opening round as the betting favorite. The Swedish golfer can jump into the top 50 in the world with a high finish.

Russell Henley (+1350) trails closely behind the rookie. Henley picked up a victory just over a year ago at the World Wide Technology Championship.

Harman (+1900), Cameron Young (+1975), and Conners (+2200) top off the betting favorites. Young is the only one of the three still looking to break through with a PGA Tour win.
