Coming off the win at the Florida Derby on April 2nd, Nyqust is the second ranked in the world. Nyquist comes into the 2016 Kentucky Derby as the top favorite, listed at 7/2.
Second on the list for the 2016 Kentucky Derby is Exaggerator. This horse is listed at 4/1, Exaggerator is third in the rankings currently, and coming off the Santa Anita Derby win at Santa Anita Park. Exaggerator also won the San Felipe Stakes back in March. Kent and Keith Desormeaux are the jockey and the trainer of this Dark Bay horse that was born and raised in Kentucky.
Third on the list of favorites to win the 2016 Kentucky Derby is Mohaymen. Mohaymen is listed at 7/1. The horse is actually 9th on the current rankings of horses. This gray horse born in Kentucky will have Junior Alvarado as it’s jockey. Mohaymen is coming off a fourth place finish in the past two months at the Xpressbet Florida Derby.
Fourth on the list of favorites to win the 2016 Kentucky Derby is Mor Spirit. At 7/1, Mor Spirit is 8th on the leaderboard, with 84 points. Jockey Gary L. Destin is coming off back to back wins at the Sam F. Davies Stakes, and also the Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby.
The three horses that will round out the Top 8 contenders in the 2016 Kentucky Derby include: Gun Runner at 10/1, Creator at 12/1 and Outwork at 12/1.
