If you don’t know much about Invicta, then here’s a quick rundown on its existence. Invicta Fighting Championships was created back in 2012 and is now a world championship MMA organization that provides female competitors with a major platform to hone their skills. Many of the best female MMA fighters in the world, including the greatest of all time, Cristiane Justino Venâncio, better know as the unbeatable ‘Cyborg’ have either started their careers in Invicta or used it as a steppingstone to reach the UFC.

Invicta 28 Main Card Top Fights

Mizuki Inoue vs. Vima Jandiroba

  • Record: Inoue 12-4 / Jandiroba 12-0
  • Opening MMA Betting Odds: Inoue -120 / Jandiroba -114
In the main event, Japan’s Mizuki Inoue takes on undefeated Brazilian Virna Jandiroba. The belt was left vacant when former champion Angela Hill returned to the UFC. The 23-year-old Inoue (12-4) is riding a four-fight winning streak that includes a second-round submission (armbar) win over Lynn Alvarez at Invicta 18 way back in July of 2016. The 29-year-old Jandiroba is undefeated (12-0) and will make her second Invicta FC appearance after beating Amy Montenegro via first-round submission (armbar) at Invicta FC 26 in December. Mizuki Inoue is not the MMA Betting favorite to beat Virna Jandiroba.   The event was originally scheduled to feature Virna Jandiroba vs. Janaisa Morandin for the title, but Morandin pulled out of the fight on March 2. Mizuki was initially set to face Milana Dudieva before stepping in to replace Morandin in the main event.

DeAnna Bennet vs. Karina Rodríguez

  • Record: Bennet 8-3-1 / Rodríguez 6-2
  • Opening MMA Betting Odds: Bennet +160 / Rodríguez -210
33-year-old Flyweight DeAnna Bennett suffered three straight losses before fighting Melinda Fabian to a draw at The Ultimate Fighter: A New World Champion Finale in December. The 32-year-old Karina Rodriguez will look to extend her three-fight winning streak after beating Christine Ferea via unanimous decision at Invicta FC 26.

Kali Robins vs. Pearl Gonzalez

  • Record: 5-0 / 6-3
  • Opening MMA Betting Odds: Robins +150 / Gonzalez -190
Undefeated 33-year-old strawweight Kali ‘Pop Tart’ Robbins will look to remain that way when she takes on 31-year-old Pearl Gonzalez. Robinson pulled off a sensational first round armbar submission win over Sharon Johnson at Invicta FC 25 back in August while Gonzalez has dropped two straight bouts including a unanimous decision defeat against Poliana Botelho at UFC 216 in October before being unceremoniously dropped by the organization.
