MLB AL Weekend Betting Picks Saturday, July 14 – Sunday, July 15

The biggest MLB betting matchup in the American League this weekend is New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians. The Yankees remain the favorites to win the World Series while Cleveland has taken over the AL Central Division. Other matchups we study this weekend is an interesting battle between Seattle and NL’s Colorado Rockies, Detroit at Houston, and another great interleague battle between the Oakland A’s and the San Francisco Giants.

MLB AL Weekend Picks Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15

Saturday, July 14

New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians

CC Sabathia pitches just long enough for the Yankees to get into a position to win. He should only throw 5, possibly 6 innings on Saturday. The Tribe only bats .212 vs CC. That might not be good enough for Cleveland to get the win over the Yankees. Then again, Cleveland starter Mike Clevinger has a 3.34 ERA. He’s thrown well this season. Cleavinger has even thrown well versus the Yankees. NYY only bats .130 versus Cleavinger. But that’s from only 23 at-bats. Could the Yankees light up Cleavinger on Saturday? They could. I’ll play it that way. Yankees by at least 2 runs. MLB Betting Pick: New York Yankees

Seattle Mariners at Colorado Rockies

Seattle starter Wade LeBlanc is one of the reasons the Mariners are a +800 single digit choice to win the World Series this season. LeBlanc is 5 and 0 with a 3.39 ERA. The Mariners have gone 5 and 1 straight up in LeBlanc’s last 6 starts. Colorado plays in a hitter friendly ballpark. That helps the Rockies hit well. But, it also helps Rockies’ opponents to hit well. Seattle’s batting lineup is better than Colorado’s. I believe the Mariners beat the Rockies handily on July 14. MLB Betting Pick: Seattle Mariners

Sunday, July 15

Are the Lions a safe bet this weekend in the MLB?

Detroit Tigers at Houston Astros

On paper, Detroit has no shot of keeping it close versus Houston Sunday. In addition to the Tigers having to travel to Houston to battle the Astros, they must also contend with one of Houston’s ace pitchers, Justin Verlander. Strangely, Verlander’s allowed his former team to garner 15 hits from 60 at-bats. The Tigers hit .250 against Justin. That means even though on paper this looks like a Houston blowout win, Detroit’s got a shot as a big time dog. MLB Betting Pick: Detroit Tigers

Oakland A’s at San Francisco Giants

San Francisco starter Andrew Saurez hasn’t allowed more than 2 earned runs in his last 6 starts. The Giants have gone 3 and 3 straight up in Suarez’s last 6 starts. The good news is that the G-Men are 3 and 1 in Suarez’s last 4 starts. Oakland ace Sean Manea taking the mound on Sunday means that the A’s will be favored in this interleague battle. Manea could shut down the Giants. Suarez could shut down the A’s. In a close game, it makes sense to take the better odds on the dog. MLB Betting Pick: San Francisco Giants
