The excitement over the AL East division race was squashed a little bit on Thursday night when the opening game of the series between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees was postponed due to poor weather. That will mean a double header on Saturday, with the second of the two games set to go at 4.35 EST. So don’t miss out on the MLB odds and win big!

As much as the Blue Jays (79-60) would love to extend their game and a half lead over the Yankees, you get the feeling that they might be happy with a split over the 4 games, especially with time running out on the regular season. There is always the possibility that they will get more, though, as there is simply no hotter team in MLB now. The Jays are showing no sign of slowing down, and may even get better now that Marcus Stroman is set to return this weekend.
The pitching has been good for Toronto since the trade deadline, and this addition can’t do anything but make it even better. The Blue Jays will be looking to bounce back in a big way after losing 2 of 3 to the Boston Red Sox in their previous series. It will be Marcus Stroman will make his first start of the season in the late afternoon game on Saturday.
The Yankees (77-61) were unable to take advantage of the Jays series loss to the Red Sox, as they also lost 2 of 3 to the Baltimore Orioles. This is a position that the Yankees have been in before, and they are going to need their experienced guys to start delivering a little more coming down the stretch. They do have some injury concerns to deal with, too, all of which just makes the job of running down the Jays that much harder. This is not the series that is going to decide the division, especially since these two have to meet for 3 more games before the regular season draws to a close. That said, the remaining series takes place north of the border, so the Yankees will want to make sure they get the job done at home. Ivan Nova (6-7, 4.50 ERA) will get the start for the Yankees.
