Detroit vs St Louis MLB Lines Game Preview
A few years back, MLB tried to spice things up by adding interleague play into the mix, and the move proved to be an instant success. The number of interleague games has now expanded to the point where it’s not quite the spectacle it used to be, but there are some notable exceptions. One of those comes this weekend when the Detroit Tigers travel to St. Louis to face the Cardinals. Game 2 of the 3-game series is set for Saturday afternoon with the Tigers as MLB betting favorites for the match.

Detroit vs St Louis MLB Betting Game Preview & TV Info
Time: Saturday, 2:15 p.m. ET
Venue: Busch Stadium, St. Louis
National TV: none
Opening line: Tigers -122, Cardinals +112 (8 runs)
The St. Louis Cardinals (24-10) have quickly established themselves as the team to beat in the National League. The Cards have managed to continue cruising along despite losing Adam Wainwright for the season, and then having Matt Carpenter go on the DL for a few days. They did start to look a little mortal on their 6-game road trip, where they went just 3-3 against the Pirates and Indians. The good news is that they will be back home for the series versus the Tigers. St. Louis is a very impressive 14-3 on home field, although they are likely to have a tougher time against a Detroit team that is 4 games over .500 on the road. Tyler Lyons (0-0, 4.82 ERA) will get his third start of the season on Saturday, where he will be looking to go beyond 5 innings and hopefully get that first win of the season.
The Detroit Tigers (21-14) have been in a battle for top spot in the AL Central with the Kansas City Royals almost since day 1 of the season. The Minnesota Twins are starting to make a bit of a charge in third, so the Tigers need to keep winning in order to stay with the pace. There are some concerns I Detroit, though, as the injury list is getting longer by the day, and the bullpen is not where it needs to be if the Tigers are to win the division for a 5th straight year. The Tigers lost an important series to the Royals earlier this week, but did manage to bounce back with a solid series win against the hard charging Twins. David Price (3-1, 3.30 ERA) will get the start for Detroit, who have managed to win 6 of the 7 games that he has started.

Consider This Before Placing Your Bets
The Tigers definitely look as though they have the pitching edge in this game, but you have to look at that amazing home record that the Cardinals have compiled. They can’t win them all, though, and I think the Tigers get the win in this one.
