Written by on January 7, 2019

The start of the 2019 MLB regular season may still be months away, but spring baseball is getting closer by the day. With that said, now is a perfect time for baseball bettors everywhere to start putting their eyes on the prize as far as the upcoming 2019 campaign is concerned.

If you like MLB futures odds, then now is a great time to find out who the favorite and some of the other top contenders to win the 2019 World Series are. Maybe you like players props odds and you want to know which players are looking good as potential home run leaders or pitching victories winners in the coming season.

Well, if that’s the case, then I’ve got you covered MyBookie MLB baseball betting faithful. Let’s get started with my early 2019 MLB betting predictions.

Early MLB Betting Predictions for 2019 Regular Season

Odds to Win 2019 World Series

  • Boston Red Sox 6/1
  • Houston Astros 7/1
  • Los Angeles Dodgers 7/1
  • New York Yankees 7/1
  • Chicago Cubs 12/1
  • Cleveland Indians 12/1
  • St. Louis Cardinals 12/1
  • Atlanta Braves 14/1
  • Washington Nationals 16/1
  • Philadelphia Phillies 18/1
  • Milwaukee Brewers 20/1
  • New York Mets 25/1
  • Oakland Athletics 30/1
  • Tampa Bay Rays 30/1
  • Colorado Rockies 35/1
  • Los Angeles Angels 50/1

Boston won a Major League-best 108 games and basically went wire-to-wire in winning the 2018 World series. The BoSox dispatched 2017 champion Houston along the way and look like they’re going to have a great chance to defend their title. Then again, Boston got career years at the same time from several of their stars and I think the likelihood of that happening again, is slim at best.

Despite almost assuredly parting ways with star right-hander Dallas Keuchel, Houston, at 7/1, looks great to me, seeing as how they should have some added motivation next season – to go along with their stupendous pitching staff and core group of star position players that will now include free agent outfielder and three-time all-star Michael Brantley and veteran catcher Wilson Ramos.

Los Angeles recently made a major trade that moved Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig, so who knows what’s going to take place with the Dodgers right now?

The Yankees look like they’re offering some great value as a 7/1 pick after winning 100 games last season. The Bronx Bombers are still in the mix to sign either Manny Machado or Bryce Harper and if they do, that could potentially swing the balance of power in their direction in the American League.

Right now, I’m banking on Houston to bring home the World Series hardware in 2019.

2019 Home Run Winner Odds

  • Giancarlo Stanton 7/1
  • Aaron Judge 10/1
  • JD Martinez 18/1
  • Joey Gallo 20/1
  • Khris Davis 20/1
  • Mike Trout 20/1
  • Bryce Harper 25/1
  • Matt Olson 30/1
  • Nolan Arenado 30/1
  • Nelson Cruz 35/1
  • Anthony Rizzo 50/1
  • Edwin Encarnacion 50/1
  • Francisco Lindor 50/1
  • Manny Machado 50/1
  • Rhys Hoskins 50/1
  • Gary Sanchez 60/1
  • Jesus Aguilar 60/1
  • Jose Ramirez 60/1
  • Juan Soto 60/1
  • Justin Upton 60/1
  • Kris Bryant 60/1
  • Kyle Schwarber 60/1
  • Mike Moustakas 60/1
  • Mookie Betts 60/1
  • Ronald Acuna Jr 60/1
  • Trevor Story 60/1

Oakland slugger Khris Davis bashed a whopping 48 homers in 2018 to lead the majors and that alone says he’s offering some stupendous value as a surprising 20/1 pick. Boston Red Sox superstar J.D. Martinez smacked 43 homers in his first season in Beantown to finish second and 26-year-old Texas slugger Joey Gallo rapped out 40 homers to finish third in his third season in the bigs.

Giancarlo Stanton is one of the MLB Betting favorites to win the home-run crown during the 2019 season.

Nevertheless, the top two favorites are New York Yankees big boppers, Giancarlo Stanton (7/1) and Aaron Judge (10/1), although Stanton struggled with a modest (for him) 38 long balls in his first season in New York while Judge was limited to just 27, although he did miss 50 games because of injuries. Right now, I’m going with Giancarlo Stanton first, Khris Davis as my second pick and Joey Gallo for third.

2019 MLB – most pitching wins

  • Max Scherzer 12/1
  • Chris Sale 12/1
  • Corey Kluber 18/1
  • Justin Verlander 18/1
  • Luis Severino 18/1
  • Jacob deGrom 18/1
  • Carlos Carrasco 20/1
  • Gerrit Cole 20/1
  • Clayton Kershaw 20/1
  • Blake Snell 25/1
  • David Price 25/1

You may not know it, but Tampa Bay left-hander Blake Snell led the majors in wins with a stellar 21 last season while compiling a stupendous 1.89 ERA in 31 starts. The AL Cy Young winner beat out Houston’s Justin Verlander for the award despite pitching just 180.2 innings — the fewest ever from a Cy Young Award-winning starting pitcher. Cleveland’s Corey Kluber finished with 20 wins and Yankees right-hander Luis Severino finished with 19. Prohibitive favorite Max Scherzer won 18 games for Washington.

I like Scherzer to really challenge for the title in 2019, but I’m going to go with Houston’s Justin Verlander after he won a modest (for him) 16 games last season despite posting a stupendous 2.11 ERA.
