Expert MLB Betting Pick on LA Angels at Cleveland Indians
The 162-game season is long and hard, and it’s very often a rollercoaster of emotions and MLB odds for every single team. Those emotions get ramped up as we head into the final few weeks, and no team is feeling it more than the LA Angels right now. They seem to be in the Wild Card spot one day, and out of it the next. They will try to climb back in again when they head to Cleveland on Saturday to play the Indians in the second of a 3-game series.

The Angels (65-62) have ever really had what you would call a comfortable lead in the Wild Card race. That became all the more uncomfortable last week when they went on a 4-game losing streak that saw them relinquish their playoff spot to the Texas Rangers. It beginning to look more and more as though this race is going to go down to the wire, which makes every series a crucial one for the Angels. They are currently a half game out of that final spot, but are coming off a series win where they took 2 of 3 from the Detroit Tigers on the road. That road trip will continue for 6 more games, with a stop in Oakland coming after this one. They will face the Texas Rangers in a crucial series next weekend, but they have to stay focused on the task at hand, as these next 2 series are very winnable. Garrett Richards (12-10, 3.80 ERA) will be looking to bounce back on Saturday after a rough outing in his last start.
The Cleveland Indians (60-66) are not going to be a pushover by any stretch of the imagination, especially since they feel they are still part of the Wild Card picture. Yes, they are 5 games back and have a lot of teams ahead of them, but the American League has not been particularly great this season. A good run of form could get the Indians right back into it, and could make things interesting coming down the stretch. One of the problems that Cleveland has had this season is their performance at home, as their 26-34 record is far worse than what they have managed on the road, where they are 2 games over .500. They did get this short 5-game home stand off to a winning start by beating the Milwaukee Brewers in back to back games, and hammering in 17 runs in the process. Trevor Bauer (9-10, 4.48 ERA) will get the start for Cleveland. Bauer is just 2-3 in his last 5 home starts.
Key Betting Trends
- The total has gone UNDER in 18 of LA Angels’s last 25 games when playing on the road against Cleveland
- The total has gone OVER in 5 of LA Angels’s last 7 games
- The total has gone OVER in 8 of Cleveland’s last 9 games at home
- Cleveland is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games at home
The Indians may still feel that they are in the playoff race, but the odds are heavily stacked against them. I think those odds will get worse after this weekend, as I like the Angels to get the win here.
