Houston Astros vs NY Yankees Baseball Betting Odds Matchup
The baseball divisional standings are often set in stone at this stage of the season, with one team often dominating in each division. The good news for baseball betting fans this year is that there isn’t much of that going on, and it looks as though the majority of the races are going to go down to the wire. The Houston Astros and New York Yankees both have a fight on their hands, and they will meet in the Big Apple on Tuesday night in what promises to be a great series.

The Houston Astros (69-56) went through a bit of a sticky patch earlier in the month, but were able to keep their lead atop the AL West thanks in large part to the skid that the LA Angels are on. They seem to have got their groove back, though, and now hold a 4-game lead on top. They certainly helped their cause by sweeping the LA Dodgers over the weekend, which helped them finish their 10-game home stand with a 7-3 record. While it looks as though the Angels are going to fall right out of contention, Houston is going to have to keep an eye on the surging Texas Rangers. This 6-game road trip that they are about to embark on is crucial, as a poor performance could allow Texas to tighten that gap a little more. Dallas Keuchel (14-6, 2.37 ERA) will get the start for the Astros on Tuesday. His numbers really do speak for themselves this season.
It was something of a strange week for the Yankees (68-55), as they got the division lead back, lost it, and also lost a couple of key players in the process. New York were on a high after taking down the Blue Jays to once again assume control of the AL East, and it looked as though they were about to go on a roll, sweeping the Twins to start the week. That all fell apart, though, when they dropped 3 of 4 to the Cleveland Indians over the weekend, losing the services of Mark Texeira and CC Sabathia in the process. Those two veteran were going to be crucial to the Yankees in the stretch run, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this team handles those losses, as well as being behind the Blue Jays once again. Ivan Nova (5-5, 3.72 ERA) will be the man in charge of trying to slow down the high flying Astros.

The Yankees have a tough go of it on Tuesday, even with home field advantage. Having to face the Houston ace on the mound makes it even tougher, and I just don’t see them overcoming those odds.
