MLB Lines Analysis on Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins
There are plenty of teams who have made it clear to MLB betting fans that there will be changes made in the offseason, but that isn’t something usually done by a team who still have their manager in place. That is exactly what is happening in Detroit, though, with reports circulating that Brad Ausmus will be let go at the end of the season. The Tigers will be in Minnesota to face the Twins this week, with the final of 3 games set for Wednesday

This is certainly not an ideal situation for the Detroit Tigers (75-68), but it’s not a move that is totally unexpected. That said, how can they expect the manager and players to focus on the task at and when uncertainty seems to be the order of the day? It does seem to be having an effect, as the Tigers are not exactly playing their best ball of the season right now. They do still have an opportunity to make an impact on the playoff race, as the final couple of weeks sees them play a number of games against teams who are still very much alive.
Given what’s going on in Detroit right now, though, makes you wonder just how much this team will actually be up for the fight. Anibal Sanchez (10-10, 4.99 ERA) will get the start for the Tigers.
The focus of the Minnesota Twins (75-68) in recent weeks has very much been on running down the Texas Rangers for the final AL Wild Card spot. Their Wild Card goal remains the same, but that focus may have to shift towards the Houston Astros if results continue to play out the way they have been over the past couple of weeks. For now, the Twins just have to concern themselves with picking up wins, and they are doing just that.
Back to back series wins against the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox have helped them keep pace with Texas, as has a win in the opening game of this series. The Twins have a final run of games against teams in the playoff picture, so don’t expect an easy road ahead for them. Ervin Santana (5-4, 4.73 ERA) will get the start for the Twins.
