Inside Scoop on the Minnesota vs Cleveland MLB Betting Lines Predictions & PickDate/Time: Friday August 14, 6.10pm Venue: Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota TV: SportsTime Ohio Radio: WMMS 100.7, Indians Radio Network Opening Line: Cleveland -138, Minnesota +128 It was beginning to look as though Minnesota (57-56) might be headed in the wrong direction, but they will head into Thursday’s game against the Texas Rangers with a sweep on their minds. It’s only a 2-game win streak they have going right now, but it has helped them move above Texas in the Wild Card race, where they are now just 2 games back of the LA Angels for that final spot. The pitching of the Twins was what surprised everyone in the first half, but it has been that same pitching staff that has disappointed in this part of the season. The fact that they have held the Rangers to just 3 runs over the first 2 games of that series is a good sign, especially when you consider that the Indians hammered home 34 runs against them in the previous 3-game series. Phil Hughes (10-8, 4.49 ERA) was hit hard when he faced the Indians in his last start, and he will be seeking revenge. That great series against the Twins seemed to serve as a wake-up call for the Indians (53-59), as they are now on a nice little 4-game win streak. They have taken the first 2 games of their series versus the New York Yankees, and you feel that they would come into this one on a real high if they could complete the sweep. There really is very little for the Indians to play for at this point in the season, but you can bet that they would love to play the spoiler role and help keep their division rivals out of the playoffs. If the bats can continue to be as hot as they have been of late, that goal may well become a distinct possibility. Corey Kluber (7-12, 3.46 ERA) will get the start for the Indians on Friday night.
