Minnesota vs Kansas City MLB Odds Analysis
A losing week doesn’t really feel as though it means that much at the start of the season, but those losses eventually find a way to catch up with you. This is especially true for those teams on the outside looking in at the playoffs. They must now be looking back at the games they let slip away, and will be wondering what might have been. The Minnesota Twins have no time for such backward thinking, as they are still in the hunt. They are in KC this week, where they will play the second of 3 games on Tuesday night. It was a bit of a frustrating week for Minnesota (70-66) last week, as they only managed to post a .500 record. That is not good enough for a team looking to try and sneak into the final Wild Card spot before the season draws to a close. They are now a game and a half back of the Texas Rangers, and really can’t afford to have many more weeks where they don’t come away with a winning record. Things don’t get any easier this week, as they have to start things off with a trip to Kansas City, who are arguably the best team in the AL.
If they can get something out of this series, they will head into another series with the Chicago White Sox on a positive note. Minnesota managed to tale 2 of 3 from the White Sox last week, so they have to feel confident about getting something there. Kyle Gibson (9-9, 3.84 ERA) will start for the Twins.
Now might well be the right time for the Twins to face Kansas City (82-54), as the Royals are coming off a week that saw them go a mere 2-4. They enter this series on a 3-game losing skid, having been swept by the Chicago White Sox. Those losses did very little to change how things look in the AL Central, as the Royals still maintain a more than comfortable 12 game lead over the Twins. This is a team that is in cruise control right now, but they don’t want to get too comfortable especially with the postseason right around the corner. It can be difficult to hit high gear again after spending so long in neutral. It will be Edinson Volquez (12-7, 3.53 ERA) who will get the start, as he looks to extend his 5-game unbeaten streak.

Consider This Before Placing Your Bets
Last week was one that was very uncharacteristic for the Royals, and I just don’t see them continuing that little slide. That could prove to be very bad news for Gibson and the Twins.
