Online Baseball Betting Lines on San Francisco vs Arizona
When the final week of the regular season rolls round, only a few teams will have anything left to play for. For many, it could all be over before we reach that point, and the World Champion San Francisco Giants have some work to do if they want to be in that small group. They will head to Arizona to face the Diamondbacks, with the second of three games set for Tuesday night where Arizona is listed as -112 favorites on online betting odds.

The Giants (71-66) season is very much on life support at the moment, as they now find themselves sitting 7.5 games back of the division leading LA Dodgers in the NL West. They did not help their own cause by going on a 7-game losing skid that included a sweep at the hands of the Dodgers, although they did break out of it by beating the Rockies in back to back games to end the weekend.
There was always the feeling that the 4-game series against the Dodgers in the final week of the season might be what decided this division, but unless the Giants can find offense from somewhere, that series is likely to be rendered meaningless long before it arrives. If the Giants can get the series win here, they will then have a 9-game home stand against teams they should beat. There is very little margin for error, though, and their climb back has to start now. Ryan Vogelsong (9-11, 4.58 ERA) will be trying to break out of a 3-game losing skid with this start.
The Diamondbacks (65-72) had a pretty forgettable week, going 2-5 and suffering a sweep at the hands of the Chicago Cubs. While Arizona had to play a number of games without Paul Goldschmidt, the good news was that some of the other guys on the team picked up the offensive slack. That said it still wasn’t nearly enough to get this team over the top against a Cubs team that looks ready to roll into the playoffs. It now looks as though the D-Backs are going to be content to see exactly what they have to work with before heading into the offseason. This looks like being a pretty decent improvement over last year, but there is still a lot of work to be done if they want to continue the slow climb back to respectability. Chase Anderson (6-5, 4.26 ERA) will start for Arizona.

Now is the time for the Giants to prove that they still have the heart of a champion, no matter how weakly that heartbeat has been of late. This is a series that is there for the taking, and I think the Giants get the win on Tuesday.
