Saturday MLB Betting Chicago White Sox at Seattle Mariners
The baseball regular season doesn’t come to an end until the early part of October, but there are already a number of teams looking ahead to what has to be done in the offseason in order to improve. That means that a lot of guys are playing for their jobs for next season, so don’t expect to see the Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners ease up anytime soon. Those two teams will meet in the second game of a 3-game MLB betting series in Chicago on Saturday. Be sure to be on the lookout for more MLB odds and lines by clicking here.

If you want to talk about disappointing seasons, you need to talk about the Chicago White Sox (56-63). This is a team that spent a lot of money last offseason to bring in players that were expected to make a difference. That never materialized, though, and many feel that the Sox should have made more moves than they did at the trade deadline. This is going to be an interesting offseason for them, as they need to decide whether to make minor changes or blow everything up and try to start all over again. The latter tactic didn’t work too well for them this year, so management is going to have to make some tough choices. Carlos Rodon (5-5, 4.42 ERA) has had back to back great starts, and will be looking to make it 3 in a row on Saturday night.
There was hope that the Seattle Mariners (56-65) might be able to end a playoff drought that stretches back to 2001 this season, but all hope is now gone. There have been some nice moments this year, such as the Hisahi Iawkuma no-hitter, but not enough for this team to make any sort of sustained run. The fact that they are 7 games under .500 at home is a sure sign that all is not well in Seattle. Their form of late is mediocre at best, and they are beginning to look like a team that is destined to play .500 ball the rest of the way. Their offense comes in little fits and starts, but is usually nullified by some horrendous pitching and defense at the same time. Vidal Nuno (0-1, 3.67 ERA) will be given another shot at a starting role on Saturday night.
Key Betting Trends
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Chi White Sox’s last 6 games when playing Seattle
- The total has gone OVER in 17 of Chi White Sox’s last 23 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Seattle’s last 6 games when playing Chi White Sox
- The total has gone OVER in 15 of Seattle’s last 20 games at home
Carlos Rodon has not had a great year, but he is the hot hand right now for the White Sox. I think he will throw another good game here as he picks up another W.
