Seattle Mariners vs Cleveland Indians MLB Odds & Preview
When you start your season by digging yourself into a hole, finding a way to get back out can be tough. For most teams in that position, getting back to .500 is generally job one. Making that happen is harder than it might appear, and that is exactly what the Seattle Mariners and the Cleveland Indians are finding out right now. They will complete the finals game of a 3-game series in Cleveland on Thursday afternoon and here’s a MLB betting preview if you want to cash in on the game.
Taking a Look at the Seattle Mariners vs Cleveland Indians MLB Odds & Preview
Time: Thursday, 12:10 p.m. ET
Venue: Progressive Field, Cleveland
National TV: none
Opening line: Indians -116, Mariners +106 (8.5)
The Indians (27-30) looked for a while as though they were going to hit that .500 mark after a pretty good run of games, but they have since fallen off again, losing 3 of their last 4, including the first game in this series versus the Mariners. Despite their current standing, this is a team that might still be able to find its way back into things. They have a pitching staff that is leading the league in strikeouts, but which doesn’t always get the run support that their efforts deserve. Cleveland has scored the exact same number of runs (244) that they have given up, and if they do want to try and find a way to contend, they have to push their run differential into the positive digits. Shaun Marcum (2-1, 5.19 ERA) will take to the hill for the Indians on Thursday. Marcum is one guy who has actually benefited from some run support in his starts, but he hasn’t always held up his end of the deal.
The Mariners (26-32) have a lot of work to do if they want to get back into things in the AL West. They are 7 games out of first place right now, and are having the same issues in getting to .500 that the Indians have. They did swing a major trade with Arizona in an effort to shake things up a little, bringing in Mark Trumbo and Vidal Nuno in exchange for 4 players. Time will tell just how big an impact the move will make, but they are really going to have to get something going soon if they want to stay in touch with the division leaders. J.A. Happ (3-1, 3.31 ERA) is scheduled to start for Seattle on Thursday. The Mariners have gone 2-3 in Happ’s last 5 starts, but the pitcher has come away with a no-decision in each of those games.

Consider This Before Placing Your Bets
This looks like being a tough one to call, s you never really know what you are going to get from either of these teams. A coin flip might be the best way to decide, but I am going to go out on a limb and take the Mariners to win this one.
