We are now at the stage of the season where we can start to talk about who might represent the AL and NL in the World Series. There is still an awful lot that can happen between then and now, with some teams currently in the playoff picture perhaps missing out entirely. One teams assured of being in is the Kansas City Royals. They will look to continue their impressive season when they close out a home series versus the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. A Look at Sunday’s MLB Betting Preview on White Sox at Royals & TV Info

Date: Sunday, September 6th, 2015
Time: 12:10PM
Venue: Ewing M. Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri

Ask the average person who they think will be representing the AL in the World Series and you will likely get a pretty even split between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals (82-51). While the Jays have arguably been the best team in baseball in the second half, the Royals have been brilliantly efficient all season long.

They have maintained a huge lead in the AL central for as long as anyone can remember, and they appear to have struck the perfect balance between offense and defense. The division is clinched, and anyone who wants to end up with a better season record than KC when all is said and done is going to have to be pretty near flawless the rest of the way. Johnny Cueto (9-10, 4.20 ERA) has not been very impressive in his last 3 starts, all of which ended in a loss.

The White Sox (62-70) have been a team in freefall since the trade deadline, with many believing that their decision to stand pat back then was what led them to where they are right now. It has certainly been a disappointing season for a team that came in with a lot of promise at the start of the year. A major reason for their struggles through the month of August has been the play of their pitching staff. If this team is going to clean out and start again in the offseason, which many believe to be the case, they are very likely going to be making the biggest changes with that aspect of their game. This series will mark the end of a short 6-game road trip, with a 1-2 record posted by the Sox through the first 3 games. Erik Johnson will be making his first start of the season on Sunday.

Consider This Before Placing Your Bet

Cueto has struggled since coming over from the Reds, but you know he has to break out of his slump eventually. I believe that this will be the day that he does so.
