Minnesota vs Chicago MLB Game Information

With just a couple of weeks to go in the regular season, every team and their MLB betting fans would love to be in control of their own destiny, but save for a lucky few, most are going to need some help if they want to be playing in October. The Minnesota Twins are in that category, as they need some help if they are to get the final Wild Card spot. They will try to help their own cause when they head to Chicago to face the White Sox on Friday.

The Twins (72-67) continue to hang in there with the Rangers in the fight for the final Wild Card spot, but they really are just treading water. They have been a game and a half back for as long as anyone can remember, and they really need a nice little winning streak if they are to close that gap. They are not getting much in the way of help from Texas, and since the Rangers are playing Oakland this weekend, they can expect that trend to continue. Minnesota has 7 series remaining in the season, and they are all ones that they can, and should, win.

You can bet that they will also be keeping an eye on Houston, as the Astros are starting to fade a little coming down the stretch. Yes, the Twins need a little help, but they also have to get busy with helping themselves. Ervin Santana (4-4, 4.93 ERA) is coming into this one looking for his third straight win.

It was an interesting turn of events for the Chicago White Sox (66-72) last week, as they were finally able to get a win in KC. Not only that, they went into Kaufmann Stadium and left with a sweep of the Royals. As has been the case with this team all year long, though, they then followed that up by losing 2 of 3 to the Indians. It’s impossible to sum up a team in a single week of the season, but last week was a pretty good picture of what the White Sox have been this year.

They are a team that is very good when everything is clicking, but who simply don’t put all of those pieces together consistently enough to be dangerous. Erik Johnson (1-0, 4.50 ERA) will be making just his second start of the season on Friday.

Consider This Before Placing Your Bet

These two teams met just recently, and it was the Twins who managed to win 2 of 3. It’ll be a tougher task for them on the road, but I still think they win this game and the series.
