Top MLB Betting Series Of The Week (April 10th – 13th)

Written by on April 10, 2017

The first week of the MLB season is in the books, and while it would be easy to talk about surprise teams and those who have disappointed so far it really is too early to start doing that. You can almost guarantee that some of those surprise teams who have come storming out the gate will soon fall away, while pre-season favorites that have struggled early on will find their groove and start rolling. If there is one thing that we can say about the first week of the season is that it has set up some great match-ups for week 2. Let’s take a look at some of the best MLB betting picks on tap for the coming week.

Analyzing The Top MLB Betting Series Of The Week (April 10th – 13th)

St. Louis Cardinals at Washington Nationals – Monday – Wednesday

These are two teams that many people considered to be among the best heading into the new season. That nether one has shown that yet has to be considered something of a surprise. The Cardinals did have a tough opening series versus the Chicago Cubs, but they were also lackluster in their next series versus the Reds, ending the week at 2-4. The Nationals are in a 4-way tie in the NL East with a 3-3 record, and will be looking to create some early separation by winning this series.

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants – Monday – Wednesday

The Giants are seen by many as the favorite to win the NL West, but as we mentioned in an article from last week, the Arizona Diamondbacks may well be the dark horse team that upsets the apple cart in the division. Sure enough, the D-backs have started the season at 6-1, including taking 3 of 4 from the Giants. San Francisco are dead last in the division at 1-6, and will be looking for some revenge in this series.

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox – Tuesday – Wednesday

Yes, it’s early, but the AL East looks as though it is going to be very competitive this season. The Boston Red Sox are the favorites to win it, but the Orioles certainly have what it takes to push them all the way. It has been the Orioles wo have made the more positive start, going 4-1 in the opening week, while the Red Sox went 3-2. A short 2-gamer series this week, but one that is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

LA Dodgers at Chicago Cubs – Monday – Thursday

A bit of a scheduling quirk with this one, as the 3-game series will be played over 4 days. The first game is set for Monday afternoon, and it features a pair of teams that are considered to be among the favorites to win it all this year. The defending champion Chicago Cubs are off to a winning start, going 4-2 last week, with all those games played on the road. Their home opener will come against a Dodgers team that has gone 3-2 to start the season. They are playing catch-up to the Diamondbacks in the NL West right now, and will be looking to keep pace by putting one over on the champs.
