Top MLB Games of the Weekend – Cash in Early and Often!

Saturday, April 9

Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants
Saturday, April 9, 4:05 PM ET, AT&T Park
TV: SNLA Spanish, FS1, FS1, CSN-BA

Analysis: Dodgers’ ace southpaw Clayton Kershaw was his usual dominating self on Opening Day in limiting San Diego to one hit in seven innings of L.A.’s 15-0 rout last weekend. Kershaw is 9-3 with a 1.16 ERA in 14 career starts in San Francisco. Frisco right-hander Madison Bumgarner wasn’t spectacular in his third consecutive Opening Day start last Monday as he gave up three earned runs on five hits in just five innings of a 12-3 win against Milwaukee on Monday. For his career, Bumgarner is 13-7 against the Dodgers with a 2.45 ERA in 22 appearances including 21 starts.

Chicago Cubs at Arizona Diamondbacks
Saturday, April 9, 8:10 PM EDT , Chase Field

Analysis: Chicago right-hander Kyle Hendricks quietly put together a solid season last year (15-9, 3.49 ERA) and has looked mostly rock-solid this spring. The right-hander has only faced Arizona once in his career and did not get a decision. Arizona lefty Zack Greinke signed a six-year, $206.5 million free agent deal, but a debut he’d like to forget after giving up a whopping seven runs on nine hits in just four innings of a 10-5 loss against Colorado on Monday. Five of the runs Greinke allowed came on three home runs.

Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels
Saturday, April 9, 9:05 PM EDT , Angel Stadium of Anaheim

Analysis: Texas lefty Cole Hamels won on Opening Day by holding the Seattle Mariners to two runs in seven innings. Hamels is now 8-0 with a 3.16 ERA in his last 11 starts and has been the winning pitcher in his last five starts with one of those victories being a complete-game win over the Halos. L.A. right-hander Garrett Richards was on fire against the Cubs on Monday, but had to make 97 pitches to complete five innings before ending up on the wrong end of a narrow loss against the Cubs and a dominant Jake Arrieta. The 27-year-old Richards had a 2.70 ERA in four starts against the Rangers last season so this contest should be a thriller.

Analysis: Reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel beat the Yankees on Tuesday, by limiting them to two runs on three hits and four walks in seven innings. Houston’s staff ace made three starts against the Brewers in 2012, allowing 18 runs (16 earned) on 20 hits in 12.1 innings. Milwaukee right-hander Jimmy Nelson didn’t throw a pitch past the seventh inning of any of his final 15 starts last season, but tossed 7.1 innings against the Giants in his 2016 debut while limiting Frisco to just two runs of a hard-luck 2-1 loss.

Los Angeles Dodgers at  San Francisco Giants
Sunday, April 10, 4:05 PM EDT , AT&T Park
TV: SNLA Spanish, SportsNet LA, CSN-BA

Analysis: L.A. veteran southpaw Scott Kazmir was very effective in his Dodgers debut s he limited San Diego to one hit and no runs in six innings of a 3-0 win on Tuesday. Kazmir has made only two career starts at AT&T Park, but he’s compiled a stellar 1.42 ERA. Johnny Cueto will make his home debut for the Giants after limiting Milwaukee to one run on six hits in seven innings of a 3-1 win on Tuesday. During his eight seasons with Cincinnati, Cueto compiled a 2-5 record in eight starts against the Dodgers despite posting a fantastic 2.79 ERA.
