Every team has to face some level of adversity during the course of the regular season, but it’s fair to say that the Baltimore Orioles have had more than their fair share during the first few weeks of the season. They have had games postponed due to unrest in the city, had to play a game in an empty stadium, and then travel all the way to Florida to play a “home” series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Surely things can only get better from this point forward. Planning on doing some MLB betting this Friday? Here’s what to expect.

If the Orioles (12-13) are to see their season improve, they are going to have to get much more from their starting rotation. It has been an uneven start to the season, which, when combined with all the other stuff going on, has made consistency a real issue for the O’s. Before all of the craziness hit the city of Baltimore, it looked as though the Orioles were indeed starting to turn things around. They followed up a 5-game losing skid with 3-straight wins and a 2-1 series win over Tampa that was impressive given that their home games were played on the road. They followed that up by being swept in a 2-game mini-series versus the Mets, and now have to go to New York to face the high flying Yankees in a 4-game series, game 2 of which goes Friday afternoon. Miguel Gonzalez (3-1, 2.59 ERA) has made a very solid start to the season and will get the start in that game.
The New York Yankees (17-11) are maintaining their improbable start to the season by remaining dominant over their division rivals. Their last 9 games have come against AL East teams, and included a series win against the Rays, a sweep of the Red Sox, and then a minor stumble against the Toronto Blue Jays. Everyone who follows baseball is sitting around waiting for this team to implode, but they just keep finding ways to win whilst opening up a nice little cushion atop the division. The Yankees will turn to Adam Warren (2-1, 4.78 ERA) on Friday afternoon as they look to keep their hot start to the season going. Warren has yet to make it beyond the 6th inning this season, but seems to be a talisman for the Yankees who have managed to win 4 of the 5 games he has started.
