Top NCAA Basketball Betting Picks of the Week – November 13th

Written by on November 13, 2018

With the 2018-19 college basketball season still in its infancy stage, now is a great time to offer up some expert betting picks on three matchups that will be going down over the course of the coming week. Four nationally-ranked teams will all be in action in three intriguing contests this coming week. No. 18 Michigan looks to get the road upset at No, 8 Villanova while No. 3 Gonzaga and No. 6 Nevada both look to hold it down at home on Thursday and Friday nights respectively.

Now, let’s find out where the value college basketball betting lies in all three contests this week.

Top NCAA Basketball Betting Picks of the Week – November 13th

No. 18 Michigan at No. 8 Villanova

  • When: Wednesday, November 14, 6:30 PM ET
  • Where: Finneran Pavilion, Villanova, PA
  • TV: FS1
Michigan is off to a 2-0 start heading into the new week, but the Wolverines haven’t been very impressive in beating Norfolk State 63-44 in their opener and Holy Cross 56-37 in their second game. Michigan failed to cover the chalk as a 27-point favorite in their opener and as a 21-point favorite against Holy Cross.

Villanova hit the century mark in their 100-77 win over Morgan in their opener before smacking Quinnipiac around 86-53 in their second game of the season. The Wildcats are putting up an insane 93.0 points per game to Michigan’s far more modest 59.5 points per contest.

While the Wildcats lost four players off of last season’s championship-winning team to the NBA Draft, Villanova plays a great style of ball under head coach Jay Wright and they’re right back to look like a team that is going to make another deep tourney run – even if they’re not necessarily favorites to win it all this season. Michigan would like to get some revenge for their 79-62 loss against the Wildcats in last season’s national championship tournament, but Villanova wins this one by 10 at the least to cover the chalk as a slight home fave.

NCAA Basketball Betting Prediction: Villanova 77 – Michigan 67

Texas A&M at No. 3 Gonzaga

  • When: Thursday, November 15, 11:30 PM ET
  • Where: McCarthy Athletic Center, Spokane, WA
  • TV: ESPN2

The Aggies made the Sweet Sixteen last season, but they were on the wrong end of a discouraging 74-73 home loss against tiny UC Irvine on Friday that dropped them to 1-1 on the season following their 98-83 win over Savannah State in their opener.

The loaded third-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs have cruised to a 120-79 demolition of Idaho State as a 29.5-point favorite in their opener before smacking around Texas Southern 104-67 as a 27.5-point fave this past weekend.

Gonzaga should be one of your NCAA Basketball Betting Picks of the Week.

For this contest, I wouldn’t think twice about Gonzaga losing to a far less experienced Texas A&M team and one that looks nothing like the dangerous ballclub it was a year ago. Gonzaga has at least three future NBA performers on their roster and a big edge at head coach. Expect the Zags to win this one by a dozen points minimum.

NCAA Basketball Betting Prediction: Gonzaga 88 – Texas A&M 75

Little Rock at No. 6 Nevada

  • When: Friday, November 16, 11:00 PM ET
  • Where: Lawlor Events Center, Reno, NV
  • TV: PAC-12 TV

Little Rock won their opener by beating Southeast Oklahoma 101-92 on Nov. 8, but the Trojans will find beating the sixth-ranked Wolf Pack a lot more difficult. Nevada is off to a 2-0 start after spanking BYU 86-70 in their opener and then getting past Pacific 83-61 this past weekend.

Nevada has a trio of future NBA small forwards in twin brothers Cody and Caleb Martin and Jordan Caroline. I’m thinking the Wolf Pack could be a Final Four team this season and one that will blow away Little Rock by 30 in this contest.

NCAA Basketball Betting Prediction: Nevada 90 – Little Rock 60
