There is a pretty full college basketball schedule on tap for Wednesday night, but there is one match-up that jumps right off the page. #15 ranked North Carolina will take the trip to the Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the #4 ranked Duke Blue Devils. This is a rivalry that has had a history of delivering special moments, and we will be looking for more of the same on Wednesday’s NCAA Basketball betting lines.

An Inside Look At The Blue Demons vs Tar Heels College Hoops Odds Guide

Tar Heels vs Blue Demons Game Preview

Duke (22-3, 9-3) have recovered very nicely after their January 28 loss to Notre Dame. They have reeled off 4-straight, including wins over #2 ranked Virginia, and a revenge 90-60 victory over the Irish that was among the best performances of the season. Freshman Jahlil Okafor is continuing to roll this season, averaging 18.2 PPG and .665 in field goal shooting. Duke do have some concerns on the defensive side of the ball, as they are way down the rankings at 64.9 points per game allowed. That is offset somewhat by the Okafor-led offense that is ranked number six in the nation with over 80 PPG. The concern on Wednesday is going to be finding a way to slow down a Tar Heels offense that knows how to score. Things have not been going that well for North Carolina (18-7, 8-4) as of late, as they have now lost 3 of their last 4 games. Those losses included defeats at the hands of ranked opponents in Louisville and Virginia back to back. They followed that with a win over Boston College before falling on the road to Pitt. They are actually pretty similar in style to Duke in that they can score at will, yet have problems keeping their opponents off the board. This is a team that has given up 75 points or more in 4 of their last 5 games, which might give you a hint as to why they have been struggling to get wins during that period. The Tar Heels would love nothing more than to get back on track versus their old rivals, but having to go on the road to do so is going to be a real challenge.

Consider This Before Placing Your Bet

This will be the first of two meetings this season, with the second game coming on the last day of the regular season. While these two seem to be pretty closely matched, you have to give the nod to Duke on home court. I expect this to be a bit of a shootout, but I believe that the Blue Devils will be a little too much, and will win going away.
