Indiana vs. Wichita State NCAA Hoops Odds Analysis and Game Preview
For some bracketology analysts, the Hoosiers shouldn’t have made it to the Tournament, owing to their weak end to the season, losing 4 of their last 5 games, and 8 of the last 12 regular-season games. Still, the Indiana fans and players won’t be caring much about such criticisms as they have a chance to prove their worth in the first round of the Big Dance, their third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years of coach Tom Crean’s 7-year tenure with the Hoosiers.
Unfortunately for the Hoosiers, their Big Ten Tournament win over Northwestern (prior to losing to Maryland in the quarterfinals) came at the expense of 6-9 junior forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea, who suffered a knee injury. In the absence of Mosquera-Perea, forwards Troy Williams (13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG) and Collin Hartman (4.6 PPG and 3 RPG) will need to step up their services. Plus, guard Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell (16.1 PPG, 3.3 RPG and 4.9 APG) and guard James Blackmon (15.8 PPG and 5.3 RPG) are versatile enough to do a little bit of everything to help the team have a strong showing against Wichita State.
The Shockers, on the other hand, enter this contest with a 7-1 SU and 6-1-1 ATS record in their last 8 games, with the lone loss in their impressive run coming via the 65-62 upset against Illinois State in the Missouri Valley Tournament.
But even with that loss, the Shockers still have the quality to bounce back from that loss and make a deep run in the Tournament. Rob Baker and Fred VanVleet are among the hottest guards in the nation, with both of them averaging over 12 PPG and 4 RPG each, alongside forward Darius Carter, who is also scoring in double figures and is averaging over 5 RPG. Added to Tekele Cotton (a two-time MVC defensive player of the year with 9.6 PPG and 4 RPG this season) and Evan Wessel (4.2 PPG and 3.4 RPG) on the other side of the ball, Wichita State should be able to wither the attacks from the ferocious Hoosiers.

My Betting Prediction and Pick
Wichita State makes light work of the Hoosiers, probably beating the Indiana by a double-digit win margin en route to a comfortable SU and ATS to its fans. Total is very likely to go OVER as both teams go all out on the offense for a high-scoring duel.
