2018 Sugar Bowl Betting Preview

In the early years of this bowl game, Tulane Stadium was used as the host, but that switched to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans in 1974. That has been the permanent home of the Sugar Bowl ever since, save for a couple of years when the game was forced to a different location because of hurricane issues. The last time the Sugar Bowl played host to the college football playoffs, we were treated to a classic, with the Ohio State Buckeyes downing the Alabama Crimson Tide in a memorable 42-35 win.Ohio State still has an outside shot at being in the playoffs this season, but there is a very good chance that Nick Saban and Alabama will be back. Whether they land in the Sugar Bowl or the Rose Bowl remains to be seen, and will likely depend on how they fare against Auburn in the Iron Bowl and Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, assuming that they beat the Tigers during rivalry week. The next few weeks will decide who land where, but one thing that we can be sure of is that the good people of Louisiana will once again prove to be the perfect hosts for a Sugar Bowl Game that will help decide who become the college football National Champion.
