Written by on September 25, 2018

With the 2018 College Football season starting to heat up and teams across the country revealing exactly who they are, now is a perfect time for some expert NCAA Football Week 5 picks that you can string together as part of a potentially value-packed parlay wager. I’ve got a quartet of NCAA Football Week 5 picks that are all offering some excellent NCAAF odds value of their own reasons. Now, let’s find out who my picks are.

NCAA Football Week 5 Parlay Picks

UCLA (0-3) at Colorado (3-0)

  • When: Friday, September 28, 2018, 9:00 PM ET
  • Where: Folsom Field, Boulder, Colorado
  • NCAA Football Week 5 Odds: Colorado -10
  • Total: 60.5
Well, the Chip Kelly era is off to a slow start at UCLA with the Bruins falling to 0-3 thanks to their ugly 38-14 home loss against Fresno State on Saturday. UCLA gave up four rushing scores to Fresno State’s Marcus McMaryion. UCLA freshman quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 10 of 24 passes for 151 yards with one touchdown, but two costly interceptions although he did rush for a team-high 49 yards on eight carries. “No one feels sorry for you,” UCLA coach Chip Kelly said. “We knew this was a really good football team coming in. We knew that it’s one of the best teams in the Mountain West and we had to be prepared to play, and obviously they did a better job.” While UCLA is struggling, Colorado is off to a blistering start through three games. The Buffaloes steamrolled FCS New Hampshire, 45-14 last Saturday. Colorado never looked back against their overmatched opponents after going up 28-0 at the half. Running back Travon McMillian rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way while quarterback Steven Montez went 14 of 19 for 166 yards and another score. “We have this ball rolling downhill and we want to keep it going,” defensive end Mustafa Johnson said.

Prediction

Chip Kelly might be an offensive genius, but his UCLA team is averaging a paltry 17.3 points per game so far while giving up an overly generous 37.7 points per game defensively. Conversely, Colorado is putting up a healthy 41.0 points per game while holding the opposition to just 18.3 points per game defensively. Forget the fact that Colorado is an uninspiring 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games overall and just 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. UCLA has gone 3-8 ATS in their last 11 conference games and just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Plus, the Bruins are just awful right now! Go with the 68 percent of public bettors that like Colorado. Score: Colorado 38 – UCLA 21

Syracuse (4-0) at No. 2 Clemson (4-0)

  • When: Saturday, September 29, 2018, 12:00 PM ET
  • Where: Clemson Memorial Stadium, Clemson, South Carolina
  • NCAA Football Week 5 Odds: Clemson -24
  • Total: 66
Syracuse has been one of the most pleasant surprises in all college football through four weeks. The Orange are an unbeaten 4-0 and they’ve been putting points on the board like crazy. One week after laying an emphatic 30-7 smackdown on a stunned Florida State team, Syracuse smacked UConn all over the place in their convincing 51-21 win on Saturday. While No. 2 Clemson is also 4-0 and remained unbeaten y beating Georgia tech 49-21 last weekend, the Tigers nearly lost to a Texas A&M team that just suffered a huge smackdown at the hands of Alabama last weekend.

Prediction

With all of this said, it’s easy to see why a compelling 63 percent of public bettors like the Orange to cover the chalk as three-touchdown plus road dogs. Syracuse has gone 5-0-1 ATS in their last five games in the month of September, 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games on grass. Dual-threat quarterback Eric Dungey is super difficult to stop and just put five touchdowns on the board last weekend, plus, Syracuse handed Clemson its only loss during the regular season a year ago. The Orange have gone 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record. Clemson, despite its lofty national ranking, is just 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Clemson wins, but Syracuse covers the huge spread. Score: Clemson 31 – Syracuse 24

Florida State at Louisville

  • When: Saturday, September 29, 2018, 3:30 PM ET
  • Where: Cardinal Stadium, Louisville, Kentucky
  • NCAA Football Week 5: Florida State -6.5
The Seminoles (2-2) bounced back from a loss to man-handle Northern Illinois last weekend while Louisville (2-2) looked incompetent in its 27-3 road loss at Virginia. Florida State is one of the favorites to win in the College Football Week 5. Louisville has gone a winless 0-7 ATS in their last seven games in the month of September while Florida State has gone 6-0 ATS in its last six games following an ATS win. Simply put, I’m expecting Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois to be the best player on the field in this contest! Score: Florida State 27 – Louisville 14

Baylor at No. 5 Oklahoma

  • When: Saturday, September 29, 2018, 3:30 PM ET
  • Where: Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium
  • NCAA Football Week 5 Odds: Baylor +24
I don’t know why 65 percent of public bettors already like Oklahoma to cover the huge spread here because I sure don’t. I know Baylor is still a work in progress under second-year head coach Matt Rhule but the Bears are looking a lot better than they did a year ago. More importantly, Oklahoma hasn’t been nearly as overpowering in recent weeks as they were in their first two games. The Sooners squeaked past Army 28-21 in overtime last weekend and couldn’t put Iowa State away in its 37-27 road win a week earlier. Baylor is a near-perfect 7-1 ATS in their last eight road dates against Oklahoma while the Sooners have gone 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win. Oklahoma wins but Baylor covers with room to spare! Score: Oklahoma 35 – Baylor 27
