NCAAF 2021 Season - Week 3 ATS Betting Picks

NCAAF 2021 Season – Week 3 ATS Betting Picks

It is still much too early in the college football season to be talking about potential champions, but you do have to say that through the opening 2 games of the season, the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs look a cut above the rest. Teams that we expected to be in the playoff picture have already lost this season, while a couple of dark horses are beginning to emerge from the pack. There is, though, a lot of football still to be played and a ton of big matchups to come. We will almost certainly see some more surprises along the way, and we can also expect some more changes in the National Rankings. Playoff discussions are still a long way off, so let’s instead focus on out ATS picks for Week 3 of the college football season. Let’s jump right into action so you can get ready to bet against the NCAAF odds.

Week 3 ATS Picks for the 2021 Season | NCAA Football Betting

Cincinnati Bearcats (-3 ½) at Indiana Hoosiers

We spoke at the top of this piece about dark horses emerging from the pack this season. Given what they delivered in 2020, we all had an idea that Cincinnati might be good this year, but can they get into a playoff spot before making the move to the Big 12? They are probably going to need some more Power 5 teams to stumble along the way to make the top 4, but they can help themselves with another win. They have a tricky one this weekend on the road at Indiana, but they have been a good bet wherever they go, going 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games. They need to overcome a Hoosiers team that is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games, but I like the Bearcats to get the job done.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (-13 ½) at Buffalo Bulls

A lot of football fans tend to focus on the Power 5, ignoring everything else that is going on outside of that bubble. If you are in that group, then you are missing some very entertaining football teams. One of those teams is the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. They are 2-0 this season and ranked #16, so they really should be on your radar. They are an offensively minded team coming off a big 49-22 win over Power 5 Kansas, plus they are now 8-2-2 ATS in their last 13 games, so usually a very good bet. The Chanticleers are also 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games played on a Saturday. It’s a tough one, but I like them to break the 9-0 ATS streak that the Buffalo Bulls currently have going at home.

Virginia Cavaliers (+9) at UNC Tar Heels

In the ACC, we have all become accustomed to seeing Clemson run away with the Atlantic Division each season, but the Coastal tends to be a little more wide open. It’s early going, but Virginia has the edge, winning their first conference game this season. On the flipside, there is a little bit of desperation going on in Chapel Hill, with UNC losing their conference opener. They really need this one if they have hopes of winning the Coastal Division, but let’s focus on the spread here. The Cavaliers are on a nice run that has seen them cover in 7 of their last 8 games, including both games this season. I think they keep this one close enough to cover that 9-point spread.
