Week 3 ResultsThe Tide (3-0) were a bit sluggish in beating Colorado State, 41-23. Sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts collected 351 yards of total offense, while throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for another touchdown. The game marked Hurts’ sixth career 100-yard rushing game and his second in a row. In addition to Hurts’ offensive production, the Crimson Tide scored 14 points off two Rams’ (2-2) turnovers. Alabama has defeated 67 consecutive unranked teams under head coach Nick Saban. The last loss to an unranked team came against Auburn to close out the 2007 season. The current streak began with a win over Colorado on Dec. 30, 2007, in the Independence Bowl. Alabama has played 77 games as the nation’s top-ranked team since the inception of the Associated Press Poll in 1936. In those games, the Crimson Tide boasts a 66-11 (.857) record.
How Well Have the Commodores Done So Far This Season?Vanderbilt (3-0) beat No. 18 Kansas State 14-7. Kyle Shurmur scored on a 2-yard run with 8:23 left for the Commodores’ first victory over a ranked, nonconference opponent since 1946. Vanderbilt improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2011 with the Commodores’ first win over a ranked, nonconference opponent since beating North Carolina State. The Commodores also have won five straight at home dating to last season. After outscoring Kansas State by a 7-0 margin in the first quarter on Saturday, Vanderbilt has now outscored its opponents 35-0 in the first quarter of play.

How Has the Season Been for Boston College?The Eagles (2-1) were stomped by Notre Dame, 49-20 after trailing just 14-10 at the half. BC wide receiver Charlie Callinan had a career-high seven receptions for 82 yards with two touchdowns, while running back Jon Hilliman recorded his sixth-career 100-yard game as he rushed for 122 yards.
