Let’s take a look at some of the top teams in the preseason Top 25 so you can your bets against their NCAAF odds.

NCAA Football Rumors & Betting News May 24th Edition

5. Georgia Bulldogs

Kirby Smart has the Bulldogs ready to contend for an SEC title again in 2021. Quarterback JT Daniels is primed to have a great year after using last year as a learning season. The offense averaged over 32 points per game last season, so the Bulldogs are looking to top that this year. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken will be able to accomplish more this season with his strong group.

Defensively, the Georgia Bulldogs will be strong upfront. They led the league in rushing defense last season, and with many of the starters returning, they should hold the top spot again. The secondary has some holes to fill, but once they get that figured out, they should be solid.

4. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes are once again the favorite to win the Big 10. Even though they lost a lot of players from last year’s squad, the Ohio State Buckeyes are once again loaded with talent. The receiving corps could be the best in the country. Once the Buckeyes find their quarterback, he’ll have an arsenal full of weapons at his disposal.

Defensively, the Buckeyes will be ready. They struggled with the pass last season, but Ryan Day has made sure to find some great players to fill some of the holes on the Buckeye defense.

3. Oklahoma Sooners

Lincoln Riley’s squad missed the playoffs in 2020, but they’re poised for a National Title run in 2021. The Sooners will have one of the top offenses in the country, and Spencer Rattler will be at the helm again. Oklahoma will have a solid offensive line, along with a plethora of running backs that can pick defenses apart.

The one main weakness of the Oklahoma Sooners year in and year out is the defense. However, this is the most talented group of defenders that Riley has had. This could be the year that Oklahoma finally puts everything together.

2. Clemson Tigers

Dabo Swinney is once again near the top of the rankings. Even though Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne have departed for the NFL, Clemson will still have a ton of talent returning. After losing to Ohio State in the semi-finals, Clemson will be on a mission. DJ Uiagalelei will be under center and will have a ton of talented players surrounding him.

Defensively, the Tigers will be strong once again. The defensive front will have a ton of depth, and the rest of the unit will be full of speed and athleticism. The secondary could be a weakness, but if they can overcome that, Clemson should be in the playoffs again.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

No surprise here, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are sitting atop the preseason rankings. Although Alabama lost a good portion of the offense from last year’s National Championship team, Bill O’Brien will have a ton of talent to work with.

Even though Alabama lost some key defensive players, many are predicting that the Tide will be even better defensively this season. If that’s the case, it’s going to be hard for anyone to stop this talented group.
