All of the talk going into week 4 off the college football season was centered on Florida State and the benching of QB Jameis Winston. Despite being suspended for the entire game, the Seminoles were able to scrape out an OT win against Clemson. That put them a perfect 3-0 on the season, but from a pure betting perspective, a team that fails to cover its college football spread in three straight games offers no value whatsoever . The fact of the matter is that Florida State hasn’t really come close to covering the spread all season, and that is unlikely to change this weekend when they get on the road to face another undefeated team.

How To Bet the Seminoles vs Wolfpack NCAA Football Odds & Game Info

NCAAF Odds: FLORIDA STATE: -19-110, NC STATE : +19-110

This weekend sees Florida State head north to face NC State who are currently 4-0 on the year. The Wolfpack got off to a bit of a slow start this season when they just squeezed by Georgia Southern. They have improved as the weeks have passed, though, winning their next three games against Old Dominion, S. Florida, and Presbyterian by ever increasing margins. They have put more than 40 points on the board three times this season and are 2-2 ATS.

It’s fair to say that the Florida State Seminoles have underperformed somewhat this season, and they were in fact pretty lucky to avoid defeat in week 1. That said, you have to believe that Jameis Winston is ready to come back and have a statement game. Furthermore, a lackluster performance in this one could see them relinquish their #1 ranking.

My Florida State vs North Carolina State Top Betting Odds:

Florida State will go into this one as 19-point favorites, with the OVER/UNDER set at 58.5. Going back to 1992, the Seminoles are 15-7 straight up, while NC State is 13-8 against the spread. Furthermore, 9 of the 16 games have been UNDER.  In that same period, the games played at NC State are pretty even in regards the numbers except for the OVER/UNDER, where 6 of 9 have been UNDER. These two teams have only played once in the last 3 seasons, with the Wolfpack winning straight up, and covering the spread.

Given that the Seminoles have been unable to cover the spread once this season, all signs point to them not being able to do so again on the road. NC State is going well and may put up a solid fight, especially early on when Winston might be a little rusty after missing a week. Based on the college football lines listed at mybookie.ag, the real value here, though, seems to be with the UNDER bet, as that is where the real trend seems to have been when these two meet.
