NCAAF Betting Odds for Big-12 Match: Kansas State vs West Virginia

There usually isn’t very much for college football fans to get excited about on Thursday night, as the games played then usually involve lesser schools that aren’t really a major draw. That’s not the case this week, as we have a great looking Big-12 match-up to look forward to, as #12 Kansas State head to West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers.

The Kansas State Wildcats are coming off a bye week, which probably gave them some time to get over a loss to TCU that effectively took them out of the running for a spot in the playoffs. While that was a game that many people expected them to lose, the 41-20 beating that they took was not something that anyone saw coming. They still have a chance to land in a pretty nice bowl game, but they are going to have to get back to their winning ways of that is to happen. This is not going to be an easy trip, though, as the Mountaineers are a better team than their record suggests, don’t be fooled by the  NCAAF betting odds as this may be an upset.

West Virginia are currently at 6-4, and have fallen to a two straight losses. The first of those losses came at the hands of TCU, and was a game that they were very unlucky to lose. That was followed up by a less than impressive performance against the Texas Longhorns, where they were quite simply beaten in every aspect of the game. This is a well-coached team that has the ability to bounce back from these types of setbacks, so expect this game to be extremely competitive.

BETTING

As is so often the case with games between opponents that are evenly matched, the bookies give the nod to the home team. That is why the Mountaineers are 2.5-point favorites for this one. They are 6-4 ATS this season, which includes a 3-2 ATS home record. Kansas State is 6-3 ATS this season, and they have a winning record ATS when coming in as the underdog. The record that really stands out for them, though, is they are 7- ATS over the past 3 seasons in games after a bye week. They are also 12-3 ATS against teams with a winning record over that same time period.

GAME ODDS
KANSAS STATE: +2½-110
WEST VIRGINIA: -2½-110

This definitely has all the makings of a close game, with the likelihood of it being a field goal that wins it quite high. I like Kansas State to pull off the win on the road, which is why I am taking them +2.5.
