Here’s A Closer Look At The 2017 NFL Draft Bold Moves That Could Change Betting Odds
Watson to the Big Apple
I won’t feel bad for the Browns, Niners, Bears and Jaguars at all for passing on the gifted Watson only for the Jet to take him with the sixth overall pick. Watson isn’t a finished product just yet, but he’s the biggest winner in the entire NFL Draft and I just can’t see Todd Bowles and the quarterback-needy Jets passing on him.Cards Go For Beleaguered Allen at No. 13
Alabama linebacker Jonathan Allen was projected to be a top-five pick, but that was before he got into a shouting match with a hospital worker and was on the wrong end of a diluted drug sample. Now, Allen has had his invite to the NFL Draft withdrawn and report say that he could fall out of the first round altogether. However, I think Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals will stun everyone by taking Allen with the 13th overall pick.Carolina Panthers Take McCaffery at No. 8
After kicking the tires on both, Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffery, the Carolina Panthers are reportedly set to take McCaffery with the eighth overall pick and I believe that is a stroke of genius. McCaffery is an elite runner, pa receiver and returner that will make whatever team that drafts him instantly better – at three different positions.Skins Pull a Stunner at No. 17
A ton of mock drafts have Washington taking Alabama cornerback Marlon Humphrey with the 17th overall draft pick, but I’m thinking the Skins will do a lot better by nabbing Colorado cornerback Chidobe Awuzie. The 6’0″, 202-pounder has risen up on draft boards across the league and has been invited to the NFL draft on opening night. The Cleveland Browns Play it Safe!
The Cleveland Browns have the first overall pick in the draft (again) and are expected to take Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett with No. 1 pick. However, it’s the Brown so anything is possible here. Cleveland also owns the 12th pick in the first round and a whopping five of the first 65 selections overall. More importantly, recent reports say that quarterback needy Cleveland is considering taking North Carolina signal-caller Mitch Trubisky with the top pick – and that bold move alone will alter the entire draft.ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently tweeted that the Browns aren’t yet sold on Texas A&M edge-rusher Myles Garrett, who has long been considered the presumptive top pick in this year’s draft.
“Cleveland has not made up its mind at No. 1, per source,” Schefter said.”Split opinions. Some like Myles Garrett, some like Mitchell Trubisky. We will see.”
Let it be known however, that Garrett made the following promise to the Browns if they don’t take him with the top pick.
“…If you don’t draft me No. 1, I will punish your team for the next 10 to 12 years, Garrett aid. “I’ll knock your QB out of the game every time we play you, and I’ll have to kick the hell out of No. 1, whoever it is.”
San Francisco 49ers Nab Trubisky
Stanford defensive lineman Solomon Thomas could go No. 2 to the quarterback-bereft Niners at No. 2, seeing as how new GM John Lynch was a former defensive standout and knows how important it is to have quality defensive players in today’s pass-happy times.Still, I think the Niners will take Trubisky second overall even though I still don’t understand how anyone could choose Trubisky over Clemson superstar Deshaun Watson.
