NFL Betting Predictions For NFC Championship

Written by on January 7, 2017

While six NFC Super Bowl hopefuls are all looking to hoist the Vince Lombardi Super Bowl 51 trophy, not all title contenders are created equally! With the 2016 NFC postseason looking like an all-out free-for-all between some pretty evenly matched teams, you need to know just which NFC title contender is the most likely candidate to represent the conference in Super Bowl 51. If you’re in need of some NFC championship analysis, then you’re in luck. Now, let’s get started.

NFL Betting Predictions For NFC Championship

Detroit (9-7 SU, 8-8 ATS)

The Detroit Lions dropped their final three games of the season and are facing an uphill battle to beat Seattle on the road in their NFC wild card matchup this weekend. Count Detroit out as a conference title contender.

Seattle (10-5 SU, 8-8 ATS)

In the case of Seattle, the Seahawks have been wildly inconsistent all season long and just have the look of team that is going to falter at some point. As much as I hate to rule the Seahawks out, I’m not sure they’ll get past the explosive Falcons in the division round to even reach the NFC Championship.

Green Bay (10-6 SU, 9-6 ATS)

The Packers are on fire and have the best quarterback in the game today on their side in the incomparable Aaron Rodgers, but Green Bay also has flaws that I believe will keep them from getting past the divisional round, if that.

NY Giants (11-5 SU, 9-6 ATS)

Clearly, Eli Manning and the New York Giants are the most difficult team to predict, seeing as how they hit the postseason in both, 2007 and 2011 and a mediocre-looking wild card longshot – before catching fire and winning it all both years. The G-Men have been mediocre on offense all season long and don’t have a rushing attack at all. Yet, their powerful defense – and the unpredictable Manning – led me to believe they could surprise, even though I don’t see them winning the NFC title.

Atlanta (11-5 SU, 10-6 ATS)

The Falcons have had a fantastic season, even though they’re apparently still flying well under the radar as they get set for the postseason. With the league’s highest scoring offense – and a defense that limited four of their last six opponents to less than 20 points, I’m thinking Matt Ryan and company reach the conference title game by outscoring the Seahawks in the divisional round.

Dallas (13-3 SU, 10-6 ATS)

The Dallas Cowboys have been the best team in the NFC all season long and are my pick to win the NFC conference crown. I know the Boys and their mediocre pass defense will have their hands full if they’re forced to face the Falcons in the NFC title game, but Dallas has a perfect blend of passing and rushing that should help them control the clock, en route to their first Super Bowl appearance in over two decades.
