Sure Losers 2016 NFL Preseason Week 2

Sure Losers 2016 NFL Preseason Week 2

Written by on August 15, 2016

If you know anything about the NFL, you know that there really isn’t any such thing as a sure loser, especially when you are talking about preseason games. Yes, there are some teams who have made a habit of losing, but any of those teams can rise up on any given Sunday and come away with the surprise win. All of that said, these blog posts are all about giving some NFL expert picks, which means that it’s my job to try and identify a few teams who might be on their way to a beating this coming week. It certainly helps to have something to work with, now that all of the teams have a preseason game under their belts. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some potential losers in Week 2 of the NFL preseason.

Here’s a Closer Look At The Sure Losers 2016 NFL Preseason Week 2

San Francisco 49ers versus Denver Broncos

The San Francisco 49ers are a team in turmoil right now, and they did little to alleviate the fears if their fans in Week 1 of the preseason, losing 24-13 at home to the Houston Texans. Things get even tougher this week, as they have to go on the road to face the defending Super Bowl Champions in Mile High. Yes, the Broncos still have some QB questions to answer, but those answers may become a little clearer after this one.

Cleveland Browns versus Atlanta Falcons

The RGIII era in Cleveland did not get off to the best possible start, as he went just 4 of 8 with an interception. It is worth remembering that he hasn’t really played any football for a year, so expect him to get better. Matt Schaub looked very good in relief at the QB spot for the Falcons, who opened up their preseason with a 23-17 win over the Washington Redskins. I like the Falcons to go on the road and get the win in Cleveland.

Philadelphia Eagles versus Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers did not look very good in a 30-17 loss to the Lions in Week 1, but the majority of the points that Pittsburgh gave up came late in the game when their real fringe guys were on the field. Look for more playing time for the starters this week. The Eagles got the win in Week 1, but it came at the cost of losing rookie QB Cason Wentz, quite possible for the remainder of the preseason. A win for the Steelers on home field.

Miami Dolphins versus Dallas Cowboys

All the talk heading into this season is whether or not the Cowboys can stay healthy enough to make a run at the playoffs. Tony Romo has made a habit of going down with injuries, which was why finding a viable back-up was job one in the draft. It looks as though the Cowboys may have found their guy, as Dak Prescott was nothing short of brilliant in his debut for the Cowboys. Look for him to have another big week this week, which could be bad news for the Dolphins.
