Tampa Bay at New Orleans (-2.5)

While I don’t think the New Orleans Saints are necessarily light years ahead of the young Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they are the easy pick to cover the NFL betting line as a 2.5-point home favorite. The Saints had won four straight at home against the Bucs until losing last season 26-19 last season as a 9-point favorite no less. The Saints had a solid draft by adding defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and wide receiver Michael Thomas, but the Bucs did too by nabbing gifted corner back Vernon Hargreaves III with the 11th overall pick. In the end, future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees is still as good as it gets and will lead New Orleans to the win over the still-developing Winston and first-time had coach Dir Koetter. New Orleans is 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last fie home games against the Saints. The Pick: New Orleans 31 Tampa Bay 27

Atlanta at Carolina (-8.5)

Revenge will be the name of this game after Atlanta handed Carolina their only loss of the entire 2015 regular season. This time around, I say Cam Newton and the Panthers extract some revenge by beating their NFC South division rivals twice. The Panthers have won three of their last four at home over Atlanta, including last season’s 38-0 smackdown as an identical 8.5-point home favorite while covering the NFL betting line in each SU victory. I expect this Week 16 matchup to be a meaningful contest for the likely postseason-bound Panthers. The Pick: Carolina 31 Atlanta 21

Arizona at Seattle (-3.5)

The Seahawks have won three of the last four meetings against Arizona including last season’s 36-6 postseason drubbing against Russell Wilson and company. Ironically, the Seahawks have lost two of their last three home dates against Carson Palmer and the Cards, both times, by an identical seven points. With Seattle going 3-1 SU ad ATS in their last four home games and this being a likely very important Week 16 matchup, I like Seattle to get the win and narrow ATS cover. The Pick: Seattle 27 Arizona 21

Baltimore (+8) at Pittsburgh

I like Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers t be legitimate AFC tile contenders this season, but I don’t like them to cover the NFL betting line in this contest against their longtime AFC North division rivals. Sure, the Ravens struggled through an injury-riddled season that ended with a poor, 5-11 record, but the Ravens have been a perennial playoff participant for the better part of the last decade, so I expect them to bounce back nicely in 2016. Baltimore has won two straight and four of their last six road games against Pittsburgh while going 2-2-2 ATS over the span. Six o the last 10 meetings between these division rivals have been decided by three points and I expect this matchup to be another close affair. The Pick: Pittsburgh 27 Baltimore 24

Denver at Kansas City (-1.5)

The Chiefs have won six straight home games and eight of their last 10 at Arrowhead Stadium overall while going 5-5 ATS over the span. After losing a whopping five straight home games against the Broncos, I say Alex Smith and the Chiefs finally bring that unwanted streak to a halt. Denver has question marks at quarterback and will have a target on their backs all season long while Kansas City is looking to improve on its fine 11-5 mark from a year ago. The Pick: Kansas City 28 Denver 21
