Trio Of Week 17 NFL Lock Picks: Playoff And Hopeful Highlight

Written by on December 28, 2016

With the 2016 NFL regular season on its final week, two playoff participants and one postseason hopeful are all highlighted in my trio of Week 17 NFL lock picks. Let’s get started in sunny South Beach!

Trio Of Week 17 NFL Lock Picks: Playoff And Hopeful Highlight

New England at Miami

When: Sunday, January 1 at 1:00 PM ET Where: Hard Rock Stadium NFL Odds: New England -9.5 Analysis: This is going to be a weird kind of regular season finale as New England wants to win, but not at the cost of risking an injury to Tom Brady. I’m going to urge you to back Miami in this divisional battle as the Fins surely want to show some fortitude against their hated division rivals and get backup Matt Moore some more playing time before their playoff opener next weekend. Take the Fins plus eight people! Pick: Miami +8 Points

Carolina at Tampa Bay

When: Sunday, January 1 at 1:00 PM ET Where: Raymond James Stadium NFL Odds: Tampa Bay -6 Analysis: Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers have a lot to play for, even though they need a surreal set of circumstances to reach the playoffs. Tampa Bay has played very solid football this season, but needs a big victory after dropping their last two games against Dallas and New Orleans. Cam Newton and Carolina rolled over against Atlanta last weekend and probably just wants to get their nightmare 2016 season over with at this point. Take the Buccaneers everyone. Not only are they desperate, but they’ve also gone 6-1 ATS in their last seven games. Pick: Tampa Bay -6 Points

NY Giants +8 at Washington

When: Sunday, January 1 at 4:25 PM ET Where: FedEx Field NFL Odds: Washington -8 Analysis: I know Kirk Cousins and the Redskins really need this win to secure a playoff berth, while Eli Manning and New York cannot improve on its wild card status and simply wants to get out of this game unscathed, but this is still a division clash and I just don’t think the Giants are going to roll over no matter how long their starters play, if at all. New York has gone 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. Take the G-Men plus the points. Pick: New York +8 Points
