NFL Week 11 Picks & Betting Predictions

Written by on November 14, 2017

By some miracle, the New York Giants haven’t fired Coach Ben McAdoo yet despite just one victory and embarrassing losses the past two weeks. Giants owners John Mara and Steve Tisch released a statement on Monday saying that while the last two weeks have been “inexcusable,” there won’t be any move made with McAdoo, General Manager Jerry Reese or anyone else until the end of the season. OK then. Here’s a look at two interesting NFL Week 11 picks for this week, along with it’s updated NFL odds: Lions-Bears and Bills-Chargers.

NFL Week 11 Picks & Betting Predictions

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears NFL Odds & Game Info

Updated Super Bowl LII Odds – November 14th Edition

Why Bet On Detroit?

Lions QB Matthew Stafford threw three touchdown passes – including the game-winning score to tight end Eric Ebron with 10:46 remaining in the fourth quarter – in the Lions’ 38-24 win over Cleveland. Stafford moved past Jim Everett for No. 39 all-time in touchdown passes. Stafford now has 204 in his career. Next up for Stafford is former Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Randall Cunningham, who had 207 career touchdowns.  Stafford also became the fastest-ever quarterback to 30 game-winning drives, doing it in 118 games — six faster than his friend, Matt Ryan, who did it in 124 games. Detroit handed winless Cleveland a 10-0 lead after an ugly Stafford interception in the first quarter and struggled to stop the Browns on offense until knocking DeShone Kizer out of the game, but the Lions started making steady gains on offense and made a big play on defense. The Lions are a good team this season who might be kept out of the playoffs because they haven’t been lucky late in games. The same Lions team that went 8-5 in one-score games a year ago is 1-3 in those same contests this season, coming within a half-yard of beating the Falcons and a goal-line stand of beating the Steelers.

Why Bet On Chicago?

The Bears were favored over Green Bay for the first time in nine years and were coming out of their bye week but lost 23-16 at home. Chicago’s Mitchell Trubisky threw for a career-high 297 yards. He hit Josh Bellamy for a 46-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Bears dropped their second in a row after winning back-to-back games. Trubisky had the best statistical game of his young career. The rookie’s accuracy improved Sunday — especially against pressure. Trubisky was 10-of-15 for 157 yards and one touchdown when Green Bay blitzed. Trubisky still holds onto the ball too long. The second overall pick was sacked five times, but not all of them were the offensive line’s fault. Trubisky also struggled when Green Bay sent only four rushers. On the season, Trubisky has zero touchdowns, two interceptions and seven sacks taken against four or fewer pass rushers. To add insult to injury, Coach John Fox’s botched challenge on the Benny Cunningham play backfired so badly that officials changed the call to a touchback and gave Green Bay the ball at the 20. Fox inadvertently took points off the board. The Bears have lost 29 of 41 games since Fox came to town – the worst record of any NFL coach dating back to 2015. “I’ve been doing this too long. I’ve never worried about my job security, and I won’t start going forward.” – Fox said after the loss.

Buffalo Bills at LA Chargers NFL Odds & Game Info

When: Sunday, 4:05 PM ET Where: StubHub Center, LA TV:  Fox Radio: WCMF 96.5 FM (Buffalo) / KFI 640am (LA) Stream Option: DirecTV to Go Opening NFL Lines: Chargers -4.5 (43.5)

Why Bet On Buffalo?

The Bills were one of two unbeaten teams at home entering Week 10 but were slaughtered by the Saints 47-10 a week after a bad loss at the Jets. Both the Jets and the Saints blew the Bills off the line of scrimmage so easily, that is was shocking. New Orleans set a team record with six rushing touchdowns and had 298 yards on 48 carries. Are the Bills a safe bet in Week 11? New Orleans ran up 482 yards on the Bills defense while the Bills managed just 198. Most of those yards came in garbage time when Nate Peterman was in. Peterman ran two drives and was 7-of-10 for 79 yards and a touchdown. That was Peterman’s first NFL TD pass. Starting QB Tyrod Taylor was 9-of-18 for 56 yards. Bills coach Sean McDermott stressed Monday that his team’s five wins “did not come by mistake” and says that there are up and downs during the season. The Bills have been outscored 61-10 through the first three quarters of each of their past two games. McDermott added that he “understands where fans are coming from” in wanting to see rookie Peterman play at QB. However, McDermott reiterates “I believe in Tyrod [Taylor] and Tyrod is our starter.”

Why Bet On LA Chargers?

This will be personal for Chargers coach Anthony Lynn. Why? He was Buffalo’s offensive coordinator last year and served as interim coach for the final game after Rex Ryan was fired. Many thought Lynn had a good shot to get the full-time job, but the Bills went in another direction. The Chargers manage to give away games like few teams and did so Sunday in a 20-17 OT loss in Jacksonville. Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa was flagged for unnecessary roughness that set up the game-tying kick in regulation. The Philip Rivers was picked off in overtime. In addition, Chargers rookie Austin Ekeler fumbled while trying to run out the clock with a three-point lead. Lynn was asked why he had the undrafted rookie Ekeler in the game at the end instead of his first-round pick in Melvin Gordon with a 17-14 lead. “Austin was running well,” Lynn said. “He was hitting the hole a little quicker at that time, and we tried to finish the game on the field.” Gordon finished with just 27 yards on 16 carries for an anemic 1.7 yards per carry. Of the Chargers’ 17 losses since the start of last season, 14 have been decided by eight or fewer points and 11 by three or fewer, both easily most in the NFL. The Bolts have also lost an NFL-high eight games in that span in which they held a fourth-quarter lead.

Expert Predictions & NFL Week 11 Picks

Detroit wins in Chicago and covers the 3 points, although I’d buy it down to 2.5. The Chargers beat the Bills by a touchdown. Be sure to check out the latest odds and lines at our online sportsbook before selecting your NFL Week 11 picks!
