NFL Week 14 Betting Odds: New York At San Francisco

Written by on December 7, 2016

The lowly San Francisco 49ers and equally disappointing New York Jets will square off on Sunday in a matchup of two of the worst teams in the NFL. Still, I believe this contest is offering NFL betting enthusiasts a bunch of value if you know where to look. The Niners and Jets will take to the gridiron at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 4:05 PM ET with this affair airing on CBS. Now, let’s find out where the value for this matchup lies.

Here’s A Closer Look At The NFL Week 14 Betting Odds: Jets At 49ers

Where: Levi’s Stadium When: Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 4:05 PM ET TV: CBS Live Stream: CBS Sports Network Spread: San Francisco 49ers -1 / Game Total: 44

Why Bet The San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have lost 11 consecutive games and were on the wrong end of a pitiful 26-6 loss to the equally lowly Chicago Bears last weekend. The Niners are averaging just 19.5 points per game this season. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has completed 54.5 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions and remains the starter despite getting benched against the Bears for his absolutely abysmal play. Gifted running back Carlos Hyde has rushed for a team-high 686 yards and six touchdowns while wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has recorded a team-high 43 receptions and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, San Francisco is also dead last in points allowed by giving up a whopping 30.8 points per contest.

Why Bet The New York Jets

The New York Jets have lost four straight and come into this contest off a humbling 41-10 blowout loss against Indianapolis on Monday night that had everyone talking about their lack of effort on Tuesday morning. The Jets are averaging an awful 17.2 points per game and have a -15 turnover ratio. Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has completed just 57 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Veteran running back Matt Forte has rushed for a team-high 784 yards and seven touchdowns while veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall has caught a team-high 53 passes for three touchdowns. Defensively the Jets are allowing a generous 25.6 points per game.

Expert ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction

The San Francisco 49ers are just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games, but they’re the easy pick to beat a Jets team that has clearly quit on head coach Todd Bowles. If you missed New York’s awful performance against Indianapolis on Monday night, which I unfortunately didn’t, then you know that the Jets have clearly packed their bags for the offseason. New York is 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, an identical 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. I’m not real fond of Niners head coach Chip Kelly and I believe he would be better served by taking his ass back to Oregon, but at least his players haven’t quit on him like the Jets have done to Todd Bowles. San Francisco has covered the point spread in their last four games against the Jets and will do so again by getting the narrow home win.

My final score prediction is San Francisco 24 NY Jets 21
