Week 15 NFL Betting Odds: Cleveland At Buffalo

Written by on December 15, 2016

As sports fans, we all love to watch teams and athletes ascend to greatness, but it’s also fair to say that we take some joy in watching failure as well. The football fans of the world, outside of those in Cleveland, are now officially rooting for the Browns to go 0-16. This is a franchise that has been a laughing stock for as long as anyone can remember, but they have not yet been able to sink this low. It’s said that you need to hit rock bottom before you can start to rise again, so perhaps this may be a blessing in disguise for the hapless Browns. Of the final 3 games that the Browns have on their schedule, this may be their best shot to get a win. Do we really see them getting anything from the Chargers or the Steelers? The bad news for the Browns is that Buffalo are still mathematically alive in the Wild Card chase, and they have 3 winnable games to close out the season. They are a longshot to get in, but a big 10-point betting odds favorite for this one.

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 15 NFL Betting Odds: Browns At Bills

Why bet on the Cleveland Browns

If there is any sort of silver lining to be found for the Cleveland Browns heading into this one it’s that this will be the second consecutive start for RGIII. He wasn’t particularly effective last week, but that was to be expected after returning from a lengthy injury. I expect Griffin to be a good deal more mobile this weekend, and that may help open up the Browns offensive playbook a little more. Whether that’s enough to actually get them a win remains to be seen. Looking at the numbers, there is little reason to be optimistic about playing the Browns to cover the spread. The only one that really looks decent is that they are 1-2 ATS versus AFC East opponents this season.

Why bet on the Buffalo Bills

The Bills looked to be in a decent playoff position a couple of weeks ago, but back to back losses to the Raiders and the Steelers now has them on the brink of elimination. The Bills need to in their final 3 games, and also hope that there are some slip-ups by the teams ahead of them. It all begins with a win this weekend, which is why you shouldn’t expect Buffalo to go easy on the Browns. Buffalo has not been particularly good ATS this season, and are just 5-7 overall, which includes being 2-3 ATS as a favorite. This is a team that runs the ball well, and they should be able to blast holes in the Cleveland line all day long.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

The Bills won their last meeting versus the Browns by a score of 29-10, and I think we may be looking at a similar winning margin in this one.
