New York tends to play the Patriots tough and did in a Week 6 24-17 loss. New York led 14-0 in the second quarter. Tom Brady finished 20 of 38 for 257 yards with two touchdowns to Rob Gronkowski and an interception. McCown finished 31 of 47 for 354 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The New York Jets can throw caution to the wind in their finale – a victory would be arguably the biggest upset ever. This could also be the final game as coach for Todd Bowles. Bryce Petty remains the starting QB even though he has been terrible the past few weeks since replacing the injured McCown. Through three games – two of which were starts, the third-year Petty is 36-for-76 for 312 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. His 59.3 adjusted completion percentage ranks 26th of 28 qualified QBs this week. Since his first snaps in Week 14, Petty has been the least accurate QB in the NFL, owning an adjusted completion percentage of 59.7. While Petty will start against the Patriots, Bowles is taking a wait-and-see approach regarding second-year signal caller Christian Hackenberg for the game. He could play. Hackenberg was last seen in a football game Aug. 31, the New York Jets’ preseason finale. That night, he completed only 10 of 22 attempts for 105 yards against the Eagles. After signing with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2016, wide receiver Robby Anderson is 61 yards shy of eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark. Anderson has blossomed in his second year with the team as he leads the Jets with 62 receptions, 939 yards and seven touchdowns. The Jets are pretty banged up offensively. It’s conceivable they could have five backups starting on Sunday against the Patriots — quarterback and right guard, for sure. The other positions are right tackle, tight end and wide receiver (not Anderson). The Jets have placed RG Brian Winters (abdomen) on injured reserve, marking the second straight year he has finished on IR.Team Statistics

The Jets haven’t won a regular season game over Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium since 2006. Overall, the Patriots have won 11 of 13 games in this series dating back to 2011. The Patriots are 10-5 ATS this season, which is tied for the second-best mark in the NFL.
It’s supposed to be cold and potentially snowy on Sunday. Over the last 24 years, the Patriots have posted a 42-10 record in games where the kickoff temperature is 34 degrees or colder. New England has never lost a snow game in Foxborough in the history of its franchise, posting an 11-0 record in those games and outscoring their opponents by a margin of 257-77.
The Pats added former Steelers star linebacker James Harrison, a former Defensive Player of the Year, this week. He’s expected to play Sunday. Many believe he was signed simply to give the Pats inside info in case they meet the Steelers in the AFC title game, which many expect.
