Winning Predictions For The 2016 NFL Week 2

Written by on September 16, 2016

Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books, and that means we now have some data to work with when making bets for the coming weeks. Yes, it’s tough to get a true read of every team after just one game, but there have been some weaknesses thrown up that have to be seen as red flags. There are also some major injuries to consider, as Week 1 proved to be tough on a couple of teams. I’ll be taking both of those into account when making my picks for Week 2. The betting odds for these games are in place, but be sure to check for live odds updates, just in case there are some late changes.

Here’s a Closer Look At The Winning Predictions For The 2016 NFL Week 2

Baltimore Ravens (-6) Vs Cleveland Browns

It was always going to be a tough season for the less than impressive Cleveland Browns, but things took a real turn for the worse in Week 1 with the loss of RGIII. The initial diagnosis of his shoulder injury has him being out 10 weeks, but there is the belief that he may be done for the year. The Ravens defense looked very good in a 13-7 Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills, and they should be able to handle whatever the Browns throw at them this weekend on the way to a comfortable win.

Detroit Lions (-6) Vs Tennessee Titans

The biggest concern for the Lions heading into this season was how they were going to fill the offensive hole left with the retirement of Calvin Johnson. Stories of their demise may have been overstated, though, as the Lions went into Indianapolis in Week 1 and put 39 points on the board in a 39-35 win over the Colts. Matthew Stafford was nothing short of brilliant, and a similar performance against the Titans this weekend should yield another win. I also like the OVER 47 points in this one.

Oakland Raiders (-4.5) Vs Atlanta Falcons

There was an awful lot of positive buzz surrounding the Raiders coming into this season, and they proved why in Week 1 of the season. The Raiders came back to get a 35-34 win over the New Orleans Saints, but really proved that things have changed by going for 2 points and the win in the dying seconds of the game. It was a gutsy call, and one that may well be proof that the Raiders are back. I think they will take advantage of a very weak looking Falcons secondary to get the win in Week 2.

Carolina Panthers (-13.5) Vs San Francisco 49ers

The Panthers had an opening week to forget, as they once again went down to the Denver Broncos in a rematch of Super Bowl 50. That is a loss that is sure to be eating away at them when they face the 49ers this weekend. San Francisco got a 28-0 win over the Rams in Week 1, but the performance was not as impressive as the score suggests. I like the Panthers to blow out the 49ers this weekend, as they get the bad taste of that loss out of their mouths.
