2016 New York Jets NFL Betting Guide
After recording an impressive 10 wins in head coach Todd Bowles’ first season a year ago, the New York Jets will look to reach even greater heights in 2016 and that’s where this killer NFL betting guide comes in! Thanks to the fun-filed look at New York’s must-bet matchups this coming season, you’re going to have a great idea of what to expect out of the J-E- T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets in 2016. Okay, let’s rock and roll people!
Let’s Take a Closer Look at the 2016 New York Jets NFL Betting Guide
New York at Buffalo Bills (-2)
This Week 2 matchup will be billed as Rex Ryan going up against his former team (again) but I like to think of it as Ryan trying to outwit New York successor Todd Bowles. Ironically, the Jets suffered a pair of 22-17 losses against the Bills last season and I believe they’ll fall in this early season matchup as well and history agrees. Buffalo has won five straight in this AFC East divisional battle while going 5-0 ATS along the way.
Seattle Seahawks (-2) at New York
This Week 4 home date against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks is a must-bet matchup, but only because I believe New York is a virtual lock to lose. Seattle has won two straight (2-0 ATS), including once with Russell Wilson under center and will do so again while covering the spread.
New York at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6)
I think this Week 5 matchup is another must-bet ‘lock alert’ loss for the Jets. Whether Ryan Fitzpatrick is under center for New York or not, I don’t see the Jets being able to keep up with Ben Roethlisberger and a Steelers offense that ranked third in total offense a year ago and eighth in scoring (25.3 ppg). The Steelers win and narrowly cover to move to 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five against the Jets.
New York (A) at Arizona Cardinals (-4)
Damn…this is getting a bit redundant, but again, I think this Week 6 must-bet matchup is another virtual lock that New York will lose. Arizona went 13-3 last season and reached the NFC title game before falling to Carolina, but more importantly, the Cards are superior to the Jets in all three phases. Arizona’s second-ranked offense and seventh-ranked defense a year ago will be too much for New York to handle in this Week 6 affair.
New England Patriots (-2.5) at New York (A)
The Jets managed to snap a three-game skid against the Patriots by beating Tom Brady and company 26-20 at home last season, but I’m going to urge you to back New England in this Week 12 showdown if only because the Patriots will likely be playing at a very high level at this point in the season after losing Tom Brady for the first four games of the 2016 regular season.
Miami Dolphins at New York (-5)
I’m going to get right to the point by saying that I like Jets’ head coach Todd Bowles and his defensive genius to thoroughly confuse mediocre Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill en route to victory. New York has won three straight in this AFC East rivalry and four of the last fie meetings overall while covering the spread in each of the last five meetings.
