2016 NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks

2016 NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks

Written by on July 18, 2016

We are now just a couple of weeks away from NFL training camps opening up across the country, which means it’s probably the wrong time for me to start making predictions for the upcoming season. I don’t believe in doing the expected, though, which is why I am going to be hunting down parlay picks all week. I will be breaking down each week of the upcoming NFL season to see if I can find some buried treasure. There are no betting lines to go on at the moment, and I don’t know what the injury situations are going to be for any of these teams, but for now, it doesn’t really matter. This is all about speculation right now, which means that my predictions will likely change as the season progresses. For now, though, let’s take a look at my 2016 NFL Week 2 parlay picks.

A Closer Look At The 2016 NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks

Panthers over 49ers

I will be starting out each week with a pick that should almost certainly be considered a lock. These may not be the best betting odds available on the NFL schedule that week, but it’s always nice to start a parlay ticket with what looks like a sure winner. In Week 2, there is no pick more comfortable looking than the Carolina Panthers at home to the San Francisco 49ers. The Panthers were money at home last season, and I expect them to be the same this year.

Raiders over Falcons

A few short years ago, this was a pick that would almost certainly have gone the other way. These are a pair of teams heading in opposite directions at the moment, and I believe that this could be a breakout season in Oakland. The Falcons started last season well, but ended it in spectacularly poor fashion. They have a brutal schedule this season, and are looking down the barrel of a losing season. I believe that the losing starts in California for the Dirty Birds.

Ravens over Browns

I am going to try and pick a road team each week in order to add some value to my parlay picks, and in Week 3, it has to be the Ravens over the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. Let’s face fact, the Browns have been one of the worst organizations in the NFL for as long as anyone can remember, and I don’t see anything that suggests that may be about to change. The Ravens are looking to bounce back after a down year, and this is a solid opportunity for them to get a confidence building road win early in the season.

Chiefs over Texans

I am also looking at adding a bit of a coin toss pick each week, again in order to try and add value to the parlay ticket. The Chiefs are a much better team at home than they are on the road, and they are pretty evenly matched with the Texans heading into the season. That said, I still think they have a slight edge, and may just eke out the win.
