2017 NFL Betting Guide And Tips For New York Jets

The New York Jets were a complete mess in the second year of the Todd Bowles era as the AFC East playoff hopefuls went 5-11 and never came close to their double-digit winning campaign in 2015.

No matter how you expect the rebuilding (again) Jets to make out in 2017, there are a handful of must-bet matchups on their upcoming schedule that no football bettor should miss out on. Here is a look at the Jets’ 2016 stats, followed by my analysis on those six, must-bet games on their 2017 schedule.

Week 3

Dolphins (-2) at Jets

Analysis: The Jets used to own the AFC East rival Dolphins like nobody’s business, but that’s apparently changed after New York got swept by the Fins last season, including suffering an embarrassing 34-13 loss at home in Week 15. With Miami looking to make consecutive postseason appearances for the first time since Dan Marino was in diapers, I say more of the same awaits the Jets in 2017.

Pick: Miami -2 Points

Week 4

Jaguars at Jets (-1)

Analysis: While there just aren’t many games the Jets can circle as expected wins in 2017, their Week 4 home date against Jacksonville is one of them. It doesn’t matter who starts at quarterback for New York in 2017, they’ll likely outplay Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles!

Pick: Jets -1 Point

Week 5

Jets at Browns (PK)

Analysis: This Week 5 matchup looks like another winnable matchup for the Jets, but I’m sure the Browns feel the same way, which is why I say back Cleveland to get the outright home win and accompanying ATS cover as a Pick ‘Em.

Week 9

Bills (-1.5) at Jets

Analysis: The Jets swept the division rival Bills a year ago while winning 30-10 at home in Week 17. New York won’t get the season sweep again in 2017, but they will manage to hold down the fort at home against Buffalo.

Pick: Jets +1.5 Points

Week 12

Panthers (-3) at Jets

Analysis: The Jets may be playing at home in this Week 12 Inter-conference clash, but they have absolutely no chance of upsetting Cam Newton and a Carolina Panthers team that should have some renewed vigor this coming season after underachieving a year ago.

Pick: Carolina -3 Points

Week 13

Chiefs (-4.5) at Jets

Analysis: Speaking of games the Jets have absolutely no chance of winning in 2017 and you should add New York’s Week 13 home date against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Jets have question marks on the offensive side of the ball, starting at quarterback and that doesn’t bode well against a Kansas City defense that has four Pro Bowlers. I have no idea why Kansas City isn’t a bigger favorite, but I say take the easy ATS win here.

Pick: Chiefs -4.5 Points
